I've actually listened to ten of the albums in this poll, surprisingly, and I'm about to listen to Soft Machine Volume Two for the first time tomorrow, even though I'm not a fan of Soft Machine. Embarrassed

Of the albums I have heard, my vote predictably goes to The Moody Blues again. Smile

Jethro Tull and Colosseum are my favorite here, voted for Jethro Tull.

Please leave a comment so we know who voted for which album, it is just more interesting that way.

Tull, just over The Beatles.

Yellow Submarine?! Why not Abbey Road?

Because Abbey Road would have easily won. And this is not the point of this. That's why 'Hot Rats' and KC are out of the poll, too.

KC I get it, but Zappa and Abbey Road not so much. They do have some competition in the poll. Smile

I still would've voted for the Moody Blues, even if those three albums you mentioned had been included in the poll. Smile

Cracking line up of albums, I'll pick Ummagumma here.

Ummagumma > Trout Mask Replica > Phallus Dei > Monster Movie > Volume 2

Really like Santana, CTA, Moody Blues, Colosseum,...but  Stand Up is a stone cold classic.

Floyd with Soft Machine close behind.

Ow... Hard choice between VdGG, Amon Düül II, Soft Machine, Colosseum and Pink Floyd. Very different beasts and I listen to them a bit depending on the mood and the will, but I have a certain weak for, and put my coin this time in The Aerosol Grey Machine.

Wow, I just saw the word clash and I immediately was thinking what the heck are they doing being mentioned on a prog forum. :P

Anyway, some good albums on here. I only know about half of them though. Uncle meat is good. Funny how the red face guy album is absent. ;)

I voted for Uncle Meat, one of my all-time favourite albums (perhaps even my absolute favourite) and biggest musical influences.

Some excellent choices. Will go with Volume 2.

Many here that would make my personal 1969 list. Going with Soft Machine today, but I could go with various others as easily. All I like.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I couldn't vote for 'Yellow Submarine'. The original LP release only had four new Beatles songs on it, at least three of which were leftovers from previous albums (though at least two were great songs). The only new original music was the orchestral side two which was written by George Martin and didn't feature any of The Beatles at all.

Out of that lot voted for Trout Mask Replica.

I like many of the albums (Monster Movie, Trout Mask Replica, Stand Up, Ummagumma), but my vote went to A Salty Dog.

Yellow Submarine is easily my least favourite Beatles album (if you can call it an album at all). Phallus Dei is an album I an trying to get into...

The Germans! CAN followed by AMON DUUL II but I voted the latter because they aren't going without a vote.

Only 3 albums I like here, and Renaissance's debut just shades The Valentyne Suite and A Salty Dog.

This is just the second time when no album will go voteless, the previous one was the very first RAC - 1970!
