Well, thank goodness we made it through 2020. Though for me personally it was a pretty good year for some interesting reasons, for the world in general, it was not much fun. Le Grand Sbam and Nick Prol & the Proletarians were my favorites from this month. For the latter, it was a really neat idea of making an album out of a bestiary of imaginary creatures. I could have sworn I read an alphabestiary written in poetic form from sometime before 1910, but I can't remember what it was called. Also liked the albums by Cathedral, Allomerus, Mad Crayon, Ellesmere, and Il Paradiso degli Orchi. Agreed! Although I think for many, anything other than Genesis/Pink Floyd/Yes/King Crimson/insert-prog-giant-here at their peak is the death of prog. Others would just say that it is continuously evolving........although given I was born in 1993 I guess I don't have the nostalgia of experiencing the early 70s live to sway my view? I think 2020 was a very good year for 'new' prog (wasn't a good year for much else!), some great albums in these monthly lists so thank you T-Cat! |
