As promised, the fourth Random Album Clash lands on PA, for the fun of it. 1978, a great year for prog, in my humble opinion. Which album will you pick? I will pick U.K.'s masterpiece debut album.

This is, as has been pointed out, a tough one. I’ve voted for Gabriel, but I’m not convinced. There are a fair few candidates.

Heavy Horses and Mensch-Maschine are very special to me, best of these bands. I also like the Gong and David Gilmour album a lot, then probably UK. Vote for Kraftwerk.

I know half of the albums in the poll, which is more than usual for me. I'm on a Jethro Tull marathon at the moment, so I was tempted to vote for Heavy Horses after listening to it again just yesterday. David Gilmour's debut won my vote in the end though, with U.K.'s debut a close second.

Heavy Horses. It was the album I discovered Tull with, back when it was released, and I still think it's a near dead heat with Aqualung for their best.

Great selection.
Voted Genesis, but Rainbow, UK, Rush and Steve Hillage are hot on their tail!

ELP's Love Beach is a decent 3-star album, but it can't compete with David Gilmour's 5-star debut.

So many of my favorites here. 1978 was the year my music listening greatly expanded. I started seriously listening to prog, jazz, and classical. Contenders include Rainbow, Hillage, Eno, Rush, and U.K. My vote went to Tull.

Kraftwerk - Die Mensch-Maschin' off this random list. I will mention Bubu's Anabelas as one of my particular favourites of not only that year but of any year.
