A tremendous discovery for me, this is what Dead Can Dance are! Which is your favorite album by them? I usually go for 'Spleen and Ideal' but just today I am giving it to their third.

It's one of those rare occasions when I've heard all the albums in a poll.  My neighbours liked the Anastasis album too when I played it outside in the garden last summer, even though they didn't know what it was. They asked me what the "Greek" music was.

Spleen and Ideal, Within the Realm of a Dying Sun and The Serpent's Egg are on par for me, and better than anything that followed, imo. Since I've only one vote, I'll give it to the Egg... ------------- The razamataz is a pain in the bum |

I love all of these albums  Their two best studio releases, for my money at least, are Spleen & Ideal + Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun. Seeing as the former is without votes, I threw some love it’s way....but yeah not a bum record in sight. Another fave of mine is the live recording Toward The Within. They’re in great form and the whole production behind is just stellar. My neighbour also told me recently that Genesis are his favourite band, so it's good to have proggy neighbours who appreciate good music.

I did the same poll about half a year ago. Their quality is pretty reliable, I could vote for at least four (Dying Sun through to Into the Labyrinth) - The Serpent's Egg wins it today. |

Dead Can Dance - what a treasure. I've loved them before i had even heard of prog and never really thought they were related to the music I discovered a little later that was KC, GG, JT etc... but I sort of get it. Anyway even Dionysus and their self titled are wonderful (Spiritchaser not do much). The rest are perfect in their own way and i can't really choose one over the other. |
