HAH is an experimental metal band from Monaco, founded in 2009 and centred around multi-instrumentalists Sacha Vanony and Martyn Clement, alongside a varying cast of backing musicians. Their name originally stood for "Hardcore Anal Hydrogen" (a name consistent with the punk aesthetic of their early releases), but as of 2021 they now only refer to themselves by the acronym HAH. Their music can be likened to that of Mr. Bungle, with its tendency to tear through several different musical styles at a frighteningly fast pace and with ferocious intensity, and to Igorrr, with its harsh vocals and its idiosyncratic use of sampling and breakbeats. After two obscure EP releases, the band acquired more attention after it was signed to the French Apathia Records label, which released the band's first full-length album HyperCut in 2018.
