Like being asked to choose between different types of excrement.

I haven't heard the live albums, so can't comment on those, but Heaven and Earth is dreadful, and Fly from Here is not much better.

NO VOTE

Well, at least one person voted for Fly from Here, although they remain nameless so far. Smile

^ well, there are some that enjoy Fly From Here. I gave the album another chance a little while ago after someone sang its praises here, thought I might be missing something, but no, I was bored out of my mind.

Yes, you ARE missing out on something, because Fly from Here soars to new heights of excellence, but don't bother with Fly from Here: Return Trip because it's a 2-star dud and doesn't deserve to even get off the ground. A pointless remake which is definitely an album for collectors only, although that's a purely subjective opinion of course. Smile

Like I said (have you paid attention?), I found the album rather boring, wasted time I'm afraid.

The only one I find somewhat appealing is Live at the Apollo, but is not one of my favorite Yes albums either.

Hang on, I thought H&E was a 5-star album?

I don't really bother with many live Yes albums - there are too many - however I do like the original Fly From Here album. I know some don't but I feel it's their best album after The Ladder. Haven't bothered to listen to the remake.

Wise decision. The pointless remake of Fly from Here is really not worth listening to. Smile

I'm just waiting now for the late votes to flood in for The Quest, but I have a feeling I might have a long wait. Tongue

Fly from here---I like both versions---although I think Benoit is a better singer.

For me Yes lost it a long time ago once the classic line-up disbanded---but got to give credit to a classic lineup that really made an amazing album true to their sound and quality--after 40 years! ABBA!

(if you're into that sort of thingLOL)

I still rather like the original FFH suite. Certainly, it is a towering masterpiece compared to the rest of this dross.

EDIT. Am I correct that the Yes 50 quoted here at The Apollo is, in fact, ARW? If so, I would have voted for that. It was a great tour.

Yes, you're quite correct. Yes 50: Live at the Apollo is indeed Anderson Rabin Wakeman. Thumbs Up

That's good to know, so with your vote and my vote and one anonymous vote combined, at least The Quest has come second in the poll, against expectations. Smile

I wasn't mocking. I genuinely thought H&E was your favourite Yes album (until The Quest came along) yet you have ranked at least 2 others above it.

5. Close to the Edge
6. The YES Album
7. Fly from Here
8. Beverley Hills 90125
9. Tales from Topographic Oceans
10. Heaven & Earth

4. Magnification (14 votes)
5. Talk (11 votes)

Strange results. No way is FFH a more popular album than Relayer and The Yes Album amongst Yes fans.

It just goes to show how you can use statistics to prove anything, even when it flies from here in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. For instance, who would've thought The Quest (with 6 votes) would turn out to be more popular than Fragile (with 5 votes). Wink

^ incorrect compiling of results, those albums got that many votes in the context of their polls. Make a poll with all of them and the results will be completely different.

Date Posted: November 11 2021 at 02:21
It's not a big enough sample to prove much, you only need to look at the PA Top 100 on the home page to see a more realistic ranking -

1) Close To The Edge
11) Fragile
19) Relayer
35) The Yes Album

Strangely enough no sign of The Quest or H&E!

That's what I'm saying. The polls were deliberately skewed in favour of the later albums picking up more votes against the earlier classic albums. After all, if I'd put all of the YES albums together into one poll, then Close to the Edge would win easily and The Quest would most likely pick up just one vote, and you can already guess who that vote would be from. Tongue

A big poll with all Yes studio albums from debut to last one will show different results, most votes will go to classic Yes (1969-1977 or even 1971-1977).

Yes, it's an easy win for Fly from Here, but on reflection, I wonder how it would fare against Mirror to the Sky. Would Fly from Here still be flying sky high in the poll or would it be grounded on the runway? Ermm
