| I vote for Hybris. Images and Words is a close second. It’s difficult voting as the subgenres are so different. I still have to go with Anglagard for originality. I can’t think of another symphonic band who don’t rely on an orchestra that sounds so good and original. Ciccada is close yet considered Eclectic. They use a lot more instruments too. Anglagard were incredible with their respective instruments. Renaissance are incredible yet a different year/generation and often used an orchestra to beautiful effect. I think an orchestra would literally take away from the incredible sounds in Hybris. |

I'm going with Devil Doll's Sacrilegium. Would pair up rather well with my choice from the other poll, Naked City's Grand Guignal in a way. Not listed in either poll, my choice would be Current 93's Thunder Perfect Mind and if doing lives, then Swans' Omniscience. ------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me. |
