Again: I've taken those albums from Paul and my previous 1983 polls that had three or more votes and combined them into a "final". Vote for your favorite. (I fully expect Marillion to run away with it, of course.)
As commented before, there seems to be about a 3 to 2 ration of voters for Paul's polls to mine (the 1990s polls are more like 2 to 1)--which I take it to mean that more people are familiar with (and opinioned about) melodic "mainstream" prog here than the edgier, more abrasive side of "progressive rock." Interesting!
I'm voting for Reach the Beach because I do think they are one of the proggiest bands to come out of the 1980s techno-glam pop scene--plus, I think guitarist Jamie West-Oram is one of the most under-appreciated guitar innovators of all time. His work is mesmerizing!

I concur 100% , West-Oram has a rather unique style as well that deserves applause , while Cy is not only a superlative singer but has incredible stage presence. The rest of the crew are first rate and tight as hell as they are still together today , their last 2 albums are stellar.

Definitely I migrate to Art Zoyd's Les éspaces inquiets.
I love Art Zoyd and love that album.

I've had a Fish around through all of the albums in the poll, but I kept coming back to Marillion, so Marillion it is.

Yes! I love watching their videos of live music--even today: They sound as good as ever--especially Cy Curnin's voice and Jamie's guitar sound and technique. Do they deserve to be here in the PA database? Probably not, but so close!

I love Bacamarte and IQ, but Reach the Beach is one of the best albums of the '80s.
