Two from 74 and in my opinion the two most wild albums by these bands. Yes, I know a bit unfair because one is a double but I thought it would make an interesting poll anyway and both came out the same year. Which do you prefer?

It may be more of a Peter Gabriel album, but for me The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is the best album Genesis released -- maybe because it's more of a Peter Gabriel album. I do like Trespass a lot as well, but differently. Relayer is a fine album too of course. The Lamb also is special to me because I heard the album at a bar in the 90s, I took special notice of Hairless Heart, and did not know what it was, and my subsequent search for it really led to me deeply exploring Prog and using the internet to search for Prog albums. So it can in significant part be blamed for me being at this site all these years.

Lamb has waned over the years for me. Gabriel's voice is a bit too strident for me on most of the tracks.

Relayer has two big pluses:

1) Patrick Moraz
2) The best harmonies of the early Yes line-up. "To Be Over" is the sweetest they ever sounded.

Relayer for me by a bit. Relayer is my number one Yes album while Lamb maybe just makes my top five of Genesis.

TLLDoB is not a perfect album, but it would be in my Genesis Top 5.

Relayer would be in my Yes Top 10.

Both are among my all-time favorite "Classic Era" albums with Relayer being my favorite Yes album and The Lamb Lies Down of Broadway my favorite Genesis album. But, The Lamb also happens to be My Favorite Album of All-Time.

Relayer is my favourite Yes album.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway would be my 7th favourite Genesis album: I don't find the concept appealing and there's too much filler, though some bits are marvellous.
Although I generally prefer Genesis to Yes, on this occasion I'm going with Yes.

Copped out and went ''both''. They are both incredible (mostly), both first halves are amazing, second halves not quite so much but still great.IMO

the Lamb is a masterpiece - all 5 playing amazing tasteful solos -  and creating  great music it gets better with time as good prog should. So does Relayer- but the sonic boom of it makes it a close second place. I understand why Peter still looks back fondly on the Lamb & his other favorite from his time with the band- Suppers Ready
