Simply put, a gånglåt is a Swedish musical form and it is a kind of tradition for artists to include a gånglåt on their albums. So naturally, a lot of Swedish prog rock bands have made gånglåt's of their own too.

It's a Swedish folk tune format. Not really a march and not a ballad either. I'd say its most characterictic feature is its unique rhythmic construction with super heavy emphasis on the downbeat made to resemble 'walking' motion in a way (hence the name, gång = walk), and a very geometric, classicist even, formal approach to melodywriting. Traditionally performed on a fiddle or a nyckelharpa, but proggers have used all kinds of non-traditional arrangements for their gånglåtar.

Come to think of it, Skogspromenad by Kaipa is very much another prog gånglåt.
