First vote for Anekdoten. They accept dog toys as payment for lava lamps.

For me it's the other way around. These are my two favourite bands after Rush. These two bands have released studio albums the same year 4 times, with 2007 being the last time that happened. Three times in the 90's as well.
FOABP was a tough nut to crack for yours truly, and it wasn't until hearing this album performed live in Toronto that it clicked.
I don't have much to add other than maybe Mar De Robles from Chile and their "Indigena" record. King Crimson heavy that one.

I've never been a big fan of FOABP, I don't even know why, after all it's not a bad album. So it was not the obvious choice for me in any way.

I need to re-visit when i have the time. So much music, so little time.

Well, it's the least metal album here, so got most votes from those who embrace the genre the least.

I'm really surprised I'm the only person who voted for Symph X... incredibly strong album which received a LOT of love here back in 2007.. it's even behind Systematic Chaos!

It' s most likely because many prog fans - including me - are much more familiar with Porcupine Tree than Symphony X. Smile

3.80 for SX / 3.33 for DT

I think Paradise Lost and V are probably their two most consistent albums

They never released a bad album. Even their debut is good, if Russel sang on it, it would be considered a classic. LOL
