When we go to Canterbury we tend to enjoy fuzz organs or sax solos but what about some guitar solos? This poll was inspired by listening to one of them over the last few days and I had quite forgotten how good it was...

Much as I love Canterbury Scene, I don't recall the guitar solos well. Cos is the first act that I thought of (a Cantebury Sound band), not completly solo, but something like this stands out...

I prefer not to vote others, and went back to listen to Fred Frith's "Teenbeat Reprise" and Phil Miller's "Fitter Stoke Has a Bath" as two that kind of stood out in the list (Gilgamesh would be another) and I will go with Frith.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Every solo by Phil Miller is amazing, so he gets my vote.

For Steve Hillage his solos with Khan rule.

Neither do I. Except Mike Oldfield on here which is my favorite guitar solo period

But I do know I love all the guitar work on Aftaglid so I listened to it - and yes it''s all amazing. Then I listened to And I wish I Was Stoned, beautiful - as the rest of the track. I probably love them all except for Holdsworth. Voted for Steve Hillage.

It was between Steve Hillage and Phil Miller for me. I went with Hillage because Aftaglid is so flipping terrific.

I must admit I overlooked this particular gem (Oldfield on Wyatt's 'Little Red Robin Hood Hit The Road')
