I am looking for eclectic retro (contemporary) prog. Not overly melodic or symphonic but rather psychedelic at its core (in the veins of the 70's) with very diversified influences (jazz, krautrock, blues / hard rock, etc.) a bit in the style of King Crimson, PFM, BMS, Le Orme, etc.

Bands I already know (and enjoy): Wobbler, The Flower Kings, Ring Van Möbius, Diagonal, Motorpsycho, SKE, Seven Impale, Shamblemaths, Dominic Sanderson.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Naxatras is amazing, thanks! I forgot to mention Ciccada but I love it too! Jordsjo is amazing too, much better than Wobbler IMO, it has better melodies and harmonies.

Definitely Agusa. I think they are maybe almost exactly what you are looking for. Maybe Tusmorke also. The latest albums by Ritual and Beardfish would probably excite you as well as they are both very good. I'll post more if I think of others. You can also do a search here for "eclectic prog" using that as the subgenre option on here.

Agusa, I've only listened to En Annan Värld which I have very much enjoyed. I am however a bit disappointed in Tusmorke which turned out to be, from what I have listened to at least, a happy-funny folkish version of Gong and not that intricate melancholic soul-ish Canterbury-like folk.

Definitely check out the other Agusa albums especially their last few (not counting the soundtrack one which I haven't heard). I guess skip Tusmorke if you want but their first one at least is worth listening to if you haven't. Also, don't forget Beardfish and Ritual like I mentioned. There's a lot of good prog out there you just have to look for it. Getting reccomendations on here is ok but also check out youtube (especially the prog corner and other prog channcels) and search eclectic prog on here too. Also, the band Karfagen are worth looking into.

Sounds to me like the Hungarian-Romanian band Yesterdays might fit your criteria.

A very eclectic band from Norway: Gentle Knife (10 members) and two albums:
Gentle Knife (2015) and Clock unwound (2017).
