You come up with some good threads... .
I'm lost where things are meant to go now....Nice to see a poll though that interests me.

Although somewhat disjointed and only a single vinyl, Some Enchanted Evening is my fave because of the track selection.

An interesting poll... Hmmm...
ON YOUR FEET OR ON YOUR KNEES - Undoubtedly a classic release for the band, closing out their "black and white" period in style. It contains a few really really good interpretations, including the opener "Subhuman" which has the BEST extended instrumental section I've ever heard in on a live album. Unfortunately, the sound quality is kind of muddled at times, the ME 262 extension would probably work better with visuals, and there are some glarring ommisions ("Astronomy" anyone?). So while it is a classic album, I would change a few things about it. Best Track - Subhuman
SOME ENCHANTED EVENING - I voted for this one. It's perhaps a bit too short, but the production is absolutely sparkling, the performance is very energetic ("R U Ready 2 Rock" has never been a favorite of mine, but this version is pretty rockin'), and the setlist hits all the right notes. This might have the best live version Astronomy ever recorded, and the two cover songs ("Kick Out the Jams" and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place") make this album indispensable. Best Track - Astronomy
EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIVE - Quite a cool release... a good selection from the band's latest (at that time) material. Still, the inclusion of all of the classic tracks we've heard a million times before makes this a bit disheartening (I wish BOC released live albums like Rush did at this time). Anyway, perhaps I'm underrated this album, there's really nothing blatantly wrong with it... I just prefer the first two to it. Best Track - Dominance and Submission (an INTENSE interpretation!!!)
A LONG DAY'S NIGHT - Beatle postering notwithstanding, BOC have officially begun to tread water... the setlist is pretty much predictable to a fault, with one lone exception... "Mistress of the Salmon Salt (Quick Lime Girl)". Where the hell did THAT song come from? The inclusion of the greatest hits is, once again, depressing (how many times do I really need to hear "Godzilla" or "Cities on Flame?"), but once again the album is worth having because of all of the live tracks from recent years. Best Track - Harvest Moon

'On Your Feet' is a classic live album. My favourite. I also like 'Some Enchanted Evening' a lot because I was At the Newcastle shows that some of the recordings were taken from. Great days.

I love ET Live, a great live album, even though the preceeding two seem to have a better reputation. Anyway, besides the fabulous "Dominance and Submission", IMHO the album's highlight is the utterly stunning version of "Veteran of the Psychic Wars", with a Buck Dharma solo to die for. How I love that track... the lyrics (by Michael Moorcock) are incredible, especially the last verse: "My energy is spent at last/and my armour is destroyed...". Pure brilliance!
BTW, I own another BOC double live album, whose title is "Tales of the Psychic Wars". The second CD contains a stunning rendition of the immortal "Seven Screaming Dizbusters" - quite prog, too. It's a pity this classic band didn't make it to the Archives (hopefully just for now).
Andrea, you REALLY have impeccable taste... Bravo!
