This'll probably cause some interesting debate.

Adam & Eve by The Flower Kings.

I think the reason this album suffered was because it was a departure from their sound in a way, and people (for the most part; some people honestly didn't like it) didn't give the album its due.

What do some of you think?

I think it is a solid lp. The 1st 3 songs bring on such a relaxed atmosphere, one feels at peace. A Vampire's View is great fun....it would fit beautifully in a Nightmare Before Christmas type musical.

Adam and Eve is also a fine tune and quite humorous as well. A real rocker!

After that, there are some memorable moments and not so memorable moments.

I agree about the first 3 songs, gdub. I'm (I think) the only person I know that is in LOVE with Cosmic Circus/Babylon (especially Babylon).

I don't quite understand the criticism.

Very true. What do you think of Adam & Eve?

Well, I probably haven't listened to this album in a couple of months by now. It didn't catch on as much as the others, at first at least. It's grown on me since. It's always good to do new things, and while people may complain and criticize, in most cases, they just didnt, or won't, give the album enough time. Bands evolve, and good bands do so without comprimising any of their qualitiy and value. This isn't even that drastic of a change, compared to some changes other bands have made.

Anyways...I like it. The two long tracks are great, and I agree, it's relaxing at the beginning. "A Vampire's View" is weird, and sometimes doesn't click with me. "Stralight Man" is a great, simple track too. I would still take Space Revolver and Unfold the Future over this any day, but it's still a worthy album in my collection.

Yeah, A&E is not my favorite TFK album, either. Unfold the Future is easily in front of it, as well as Flower Power and (maybe) Back in the World of Adventures.
