Yea I agree, For the most part, that is.... I like Tarja's voice, although she does take some time to get used to. In the Prog-semi-prog/goth genre anyway...I have Wishmaster, and I've heard "Nemo" From t

Tarja is hot (and she's impressive as a vocalist). I like the band, the do more for me than most other power metal bands.

Bands of the same genre (power metal): Sonata Arctica(great cover of the wind benath my wings), Stratovarious, Labrynth

Doom on you, false prophet

If you're feeling good about yourself for polluting a good archive with garbage like Nightwish, you and your followers should do some introspection and rethink

Nightwish is not prog metal, they are Symphonic metal.  Now some symphonic metal bands blend with prog metal to form symphonic-prog metal (and sometimes meld with power metal)

You can't seriously be saying that Tarja is more irritating than Tobias Sammet?

Not sure if that's possible

Fair dos, man, fair dos, I can imagine Tobias as being rather entertaining live, but Marco (nightwish bassist) would wipe the floor with him

Probably, Tobbias aint the biggest man in Germany.

Jedhead: You describe Avantasia as symphonic metal, I would have to disagree.

I just recently discovered this band and think they're great. I like the symphonic element, and I love how dramatic it all is! Mainly thanks to the opera/choir and power chords. I just bought Wishmaster and the title track is brilliant.

But not me, I d
