I have a better question: how many albums should we listen to in order to have the competence to do such a poll? If I've only listened to fifty albums in my whole life then I don't think I'm entitled to make a "top ten of all time". I realise that posting such things on a forum can make you feel somewhat important, but really... There is so much music out there... Let's just listen to it first. I've heard about 1,500 albums so far (out of which probably one thousand I know fairly well), and there is A LOT more to discover. I believe making polls only makes sense after a while of serious listening; otherwise we can't claim the authority to do it.

Soft Machine - Volume 2
Henry Cow - Western Culture
Caravan - s/t
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Khan - Space Shanty
Curved Air - Phantasmagoria
Hatfield and the North - s/t
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Genesis - Foxtrot
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom
The Mothers of Invention - We're only in it for the Money

Soft Machine - Volume 2 lies on top, but the others are not in any particular order. Chose one record from each of my favourites. I could easily say that Soft Machines 'Third' kicks the living crap out of Foxtrot for example. A couple of other records didn't make the list, such as: Close to the Edge by Yes, Acquiring the Taste by Gentle Giant and Matching Moles 'Little Red Record'.
