The last weekend I saw the Live at Montreaux DVD and I've got the idea to ask you in your opinion which is the most creative musica period of this great composer and guitarist named Mike Oldfield... According to you I'd easily pick his fisrt period Tubular Bells to QE2. I think his first four albums are simply beauty. there's not music like this nowdays!. Bravo for Master Oldfield! Peace! |

| There´s absolutely no doubt - the first period includes seceral truly amazing albums! The first four are IMO outstanding albums and belong in the top of the progalbum list. Noone makes music like that - not then, not now!! |

| Oldfield went for a deliberate change in direction after Incantations.There should be another period in that poll at least.I love Platinum but the way its played and produced is a long way from Incantations.After QE2 the only Mike Oldfield albums I like are Amarok,Songs Of Distant Earth,TB3 and The Millenium Bell. |

| I love all his work from the 70's and early 80's. His last truly interesting effort was Amarok. I own most of his recent albums and each one disappointed me more and more. |

All periods have their moments. But my favorite is without hesitation the 70s'. Tubular Bells, Ommadown and Platinum are so trippy |
