It's not easy to decide... But I vote for the closing track of their best album (Nš6)
What do you say?

Alas, "Freedom Rider" is the only one I know/ remember well-enough thanks to the streaming mp3 at this site. I like it; good stuff! I know when i was a child I heard some of their albums, including John Barleycorn Must Die. There's a big hole in my collection to fill (and Prog Folk is one of my favourite genres here).
Always happy to see polls on bands that don't get that much attention here, as that's one way I learn about and am reminded of music that has largely slipped my attention.

As much as I absolutely worship Many a Mile to Freedom, John Barleycorn is impossible to beat. It's so well done and completely moving, I have no choice but John Barleycorn

Wonderful lyrics, fantastic piano playing, a beautiful melody, amazing flutes ... I choose Freedom Rider.

wow... now that is a hard poll.... the AR co-leaders had to scratch our heads on that one. I went with Evening Blue, always loved that one, but could have voted for... hahha.. all of them.

Indeed a very hard poll!
Although Freedom Rider (coupled with Glad of course ) is incredible, I prefer John Barleycorn (easily the best version ever), but I went for Hidden Treasure because It will probably need the help.
But there are many more tracks I would've chosen for this poll. Espicially from Shootout (Tragic Magic & Uninspired) and Low Sparks (Rainmaker and Low Sparks), where there are no weak tracks.

For me, Every mothers son is an absolute classic. One of Steve's finest vocal performances, and loads of Hammond. It was the first track on the "Bumper's" sampler, a terrific double album of early prog and more.

I went with "Hidden Treasure".

Nice to have met you in my poll, Sean, but I was thinking to chose the most well-known and classic from each album; for that reason, John Barleycorn is represented by three tracks because it was the most succesful Traffic album; followed by Low Spark, another very good album, with two tracks chosen; and finally, to little attention I think, are a couple of tracks from their two last (and most dissapointing) albums.
Yeah I forgot to put the choice "I love them all" XD

Finally, a great poll!!! no Genesis, Yes or PF comparing
As i like to play the drak horse and always listen to different songs than others, i''l go with ''WHEN THE EAGLE FLIES'' .
but i could have voted for any other song from this poll.
Why is there not enough love for this band compared some others??

I really liked that one as well .... good question, it is a shame, Traffic really is a great group.

probably wise.... being forced to choose is always better. With good 'non-standard' options like that, always interesting to see what others like. Especially with groups that don't get get much or enough play here.

Freedom Rider is so good. That and Glad are jewels in the crown of Traffics career.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Glad/Freedom Rider, but I also love Every Mother's Son. What an absolutely fantastic album.

Dwill123: If I could return to make this poll, I would like to add Glad before Empty Pages.
In my poll I can see that many people has voted for Freedom Rider. It's a very good choice, because I was thinking of voting between Every Mother's Son and this one. But I agree absolutely with Easy Livin :)

You know, I'd been staring at the poll for a whole five minutes and can't for the life of me choose one....I'm going to pass and go throw on side 3 of the On the Road record.

Wow!!.... My old Traffic poll has resurfaced xD
And due to the bunch of months that have passed, we could see that, based on popular ratings, Freedom Rider is the best Traffic 70's song
