Topic: The worst album?

Subject: The worst album?

Everyone bitches about the top album...well I'm sick of it! I want to know what the LOWEST rated album on this site is. Can that be done?

Of course, I don't mean something that's gotten just a couple one and two star reviews; as that one ultra rare Robert Fripp project that's gotten all five stars from the three loyal enough Crim heads to actually track it down, although technically "flawless," is not the best album on the 'chives.

It's based on average rating and number of times rated, right? So what album has the most ratings and is rated the lowest? Can anyone ever know?!? Thanks.

I'd like to know that as well. I think "Open Your Eyes"  by Yes might be one of the worst: 71 ratings with an average of 1.98.

Love beach seems unanimously hated.

Well, it's funny the first one mentioned was a Yes album, because my money is on Big Generator...

Big Generator has many high reviews, though.

Yeah, apparently it's the most beloved "underrated" album in the Yesshead camp. I know that now based on that poll, which was created under the assumption of a vertain vibe surrounding the album.

Oh well, some folks like Under Wraps...

Sinister Street - Eve of Innocence

Check my review. I don't rip it a new one, but that's only because I was stunned and cannot find words to express the utter lack of any inspiration in the album.

That's certainly lower than Open Your Eyes, but it's recieved far less reviews (side note: you've reviewed so many four star albums, that before the ratings had loaded and I saw how low Selling England was, I thought, "Who is this dude?!?"

For the record (as of this writing):

Big Generator - 2.3 out of 112
Open Your Eyes - 1.98 out of 71
Love Beach 1.91 out of 76

Which means, to date, you're right Schizo!

...Oh! Clever boy. Let's us see...

Calling All Stations...OH! A surprisingly high 2.46 out of 129. Fancy that. What about the other direction? From Genesis is...2.62 out 116. Not much better, actually.

Phaedra 2005, (unless more people come, rate it 5 stars and calls us, who rate it like deep ugly work, fanatics) should become an album of very low rate.

No really, Phaedra 2005 for worst album! At least it's already there, given "worst disappointment" award......

It has to be Re-Works (Brain Sald Perjury) by ELP, just look at this:

Track Listing - Disc 1
1. Re-Works One [Fanfare 2000 Golden Jubilation Mix] (7:29)
2. Re-Works Two (5:43)
3. Re-Works Three (5:24)
4. Re-Works Four (10:43)
5. Re-Works Five (6:13)
6. Re-Works Six (5:50)
7. Re-Works Seven (10:33)
8. Re-Works Eight (3:22)
Track Listing - Disc 2
9. Re-Works One [Fanfare 2002-Extended Golden Jubilation Mix] (7:26)
10. Humanoid (6:03)
11. Inside Out (4:01)
12. Plastic Flowers (4:32)
13. Palmstone (9:17)
Track Listing - Disc 3
14. Fanfare 2002 [Digger's Mix] (9:43)
15. Fanfare 2002 [Earth Loop Mix] (8:42)
16. Fanfare 2002 [Public Order Mix] (6:28)
17. Fanfare 2002 [the Pilgrim Mix] (8:28)
18. Fanfare 2002 [X-Ert's Esoteria Mix] (3:57)

Tell me if any sane person will buy an ELP 3 disks box set  consisting mostly of remixes of Fanfare for the Common Man ad nauseam.

You would have to be sick, maybe the only case in which an album deserves 0 stars, they took a great song, not only converted it in an aberration but oplay it at least 7 times and one full CD of excklusively that song by remixers.

It's an aberration.

The average is 1.35.

Rico: Ya know, "plugging?" Self-promotion?

The average in Prog Archives, 1.35 out of 5.

But has gone lower, I just reviewed it so now the general average is in 1.29/5 I believe.

Never heard Triumvirat's RUSSIAN ROULETTE (1.08 from 9 ratings), but apparently is a good candidate Wink

Terrible album, but "A La carte" by themselves is even worst.

Still I believe Re-Works aka Brain Salad Perjury is an abomination and can't be topped.
