Oh, I've though of Darqdean, Febus, Schizoid Man, Laplace..... surely I missed others.

Of course this thread wasn't mean to be ingratiating LOL,, it's just to have an idea and you just name some of those guys (no matter if they're newbies, groupies, whatever) who can deserve a fourth star in their profile Wink

Just curiosity, anyway.

Since new and skilful Prog-Reviewers will be an "improvement" to the site, I moved this topic to a more appropriate room. Smile

There's a long line of people deserving promotion and we are checking them all. Probably we'll have a batch of PRs to be promoted asap and another one near Christmas. Wink

::gulp:: Embarrassed

I'm slowly working on reviewing the less well known albums that I actually know something about, so I doubt my tally will get that high at any rate but I should at least try and get into double figures. LOL

I've had three attempts at the Easy Star All Star's http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=13432 - Radiodread album and failed - I just don't feel confident enough on reggae to comment fairly - I think I'm going to have to try a different approach because I really want to review this one.

Anyway thanks for the mention.

Great review indeed - though wait until Micky reads the bit about the drum solo in "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (the song)!LOL I think I could produce such a solo even with my extremely limited (i.e. non-existent) ability as a drummer...

Congratulations again, Andu. Nice to see you're a Four Star General issues man, now.  I suppose that I should salute you. Perhaps, as a general, you could help with some some general issues I'm having with my privates... won't stand at attention, and my sergeants won't salute.  Really, never did finish my officer cadet training as they had general issues with me (insubordination). Unhappy  Back to "boot camp" I guess (please don't get me booted for this post).

Darqdean is an excellent addition -- and an excellent poster. We are not fit to lick his boots.  Perhaps one day, Micky, you'll be the one cleaning his latrine, ar-ar-ar.   Just kidding, Micky -- I really like your opinionated forthright self, btw. Work hard DarqDean and one day you might even make it to full-partner (okay, that's pushing it, but I think one day we might find you as an excellent addition to the admin team).

You are an excellent reviewer.  One of the few that has actually made me re-evaluate albums in my collection.

Incidentally, how about a Prog Raters collaborator category for those who consistently exhibit discerning/ good taste in their ratings? Wink  Some people who don't review much but rate a lot really are much better raters than others (as evidenced by their distribution of ratings).  Not really requesting it even though I've found some raters incredibly helpful.

Another long post... Shoot me now. Ouch

Sometimes you have to rock the boat a little to stop the ship from sinking.  If there's ever a mutiny I'll support you as PA tyrant and Dean as a kick-ass pirate prince (if he's willing to share the booty) - ARrr.  Oh sorry, we're not supposed to discuss piracy here, are we? Wink

And here was I about to post (while cogitating over a smoke) that in the new PA  order Micky would give you a  special position as official "Rush's number one fan", to be quickly followed by him abolishing Rush, of course.  Then you'd stage a coup in your Ty-Fighter and sink his ship (luckily all the hot air would keep Micky and his merry band of Buckaneers afloat).

Not just any bulldozer: one make with titanium and filled with cement.

I still don't understand how I became PR. My reviews aren't phenomenal, and at the time I was invited I had only posted around 100 times in the forums. It must have been my screen name.

Hi folks,

September 18 (and its respective week included) is the Day of chilean's Independence, so I was absent for a brief time and far from a place with PC xD..... but now I'm back, and according to what I've already seen in this thread I started, I've missed some cool things during my absence Unhappy (as usually happens with me LOL).... damn...... the fourth star of Darqdean! That's exactly what I expected for him, an excellent poster, plus the mention I gave him at the beggining of the thread.... such a profecy! xD

.....and Andu. General Issues..... hehehe Big%20smile... sounds like a cool job and he wasn't one of my mentions (excuse me! Embarrassed) but anyway, he is a definite deserver of that honour (whatever it is, haha)!!

Cheers and keep postin'!

Good God, I just scrolled over this page and saw that MikeEnRegalia is an Italian Prog specialist, whereas it actually was Mandy. I should stop coming to these forums when drunk.

I hope to become a prog reviewer some day, I think I'll need to post more and write some better reviews though.

Frump, if you check some of our promotions to PR you'll see that many of them aren't frequent forum visitors. Although the forums can make you more known, the real history dwells in the PA front page. Smile

Never.

Not looking for promotions. But you would be surprised by the number of Bon Scott fans here. And my having Good 'ol Bon as a musical idol just indicates that I love AC/DC's music. The same as Gentle Giant, Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Genesis (all eras), PFM, Le Orme, heck a ton of RPI, Nick Lowe, Ted Nugent (yeah, his persona is a bit much sometimes), Alice Cooper, les Colocs, Trust, Ange, Bruce Cockburn, SPlit Enz/Crowded House/all FInn bros work, XTC, ZZ Top, Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters,  Beethoven, the Beatles & the Stones, Kiss, the Kinks, Klaatu, Harmonium and many many others. I am a music fan. The genre matters not a whit. Music that I like is what I like Big%20smile
P.S. How did you manage to upload a picture of yourself ? It caught my daughter's eye as I was posting. I would try to load mine, but my computer has an intelligence filter. Which is disabled when I submit things to PA threads Tongue

ACtually, I've got the nine symphonies (the 6th is my fave); the Complete String Quartets from Nimbus Records, with the Medici String Quartet. I also have anthologies (4 cd sets) of Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and Stravinsky. Among more modern "classical" music, I especially love Erik Satie.
But I'm just one of those old 70s kids who was into music, not genres. I befuddled my friends by buying Dire Straits & Gary Numan records, along with the Cars & AC/DC.
