I found this site, http://home.planet.nl/~halja/ - http://home.planet.nl/~halja/ . I hate that they only take trades since I have nothing but I figured some early gen fans might want this.

I've got nothing to trade either, but I have been dying to get some
early footage, especially of Foxtrot and SEBTP shows. Very desperately
seeking "Supper's Ready"!

There is actually a Genesis video I have been trying to find for over 25 years. It was a movie called "Sensasia," which was a full-length film of the TOTT tour, with Bruford. It was a legitimately made film, not a bootleg. I know that I did not dream it, I actually saw the film once about a year after the tour. Then it disappeared, and I have never found even a mention of it anywhere. It was a fabulous film, too.
Peace.

I think that is also called "Genesis in Concert", an official video. In 1994, in a record shop, I saw a Laser Disc, made in Japan, of a concert from the "ATOTT" tour. I didn`t buy it. Too expensive!
You can find some of these videos if you visit http://www.genesismuseum.com - www.genesismuseum.com and click in the "DVDs" link in the main page. They have DVDs done by Genesis fans of old official and not official concert films. But maybe it`s the same case:only tradings.

There is an official video filmed during the SEBTP tour which includes "Supper`s Ready". It is called "Live at Shepperton Studios", filmed in 23-oct-1973, and produced by Tony Stratton-Smith (owner of Charisma Records and Genesis´manager until 1973). Maybe you can find it in http://www.genesismuseum.com - www.genesismuseum.com , in the "DVDs" link in the main page, with other videos. But it seems as I remember, that they only accept trades. But maybe you could write to the webmaster of the Genesis Museum for more information. His e-mail address is in the main page of the website.

I found the hour long one its pretty good early selling england tour pretty good, watcher of the skies, dancing with the moonlit knight, I know what I like, musical box, and suppers ready. It's full costume and everything you would expect just sort of waek picture quality, but definitly good enough. It's pretty easy to find on overnet or limewire its called genesis live complete concert 1973.

P.B.:
If it has Bruford drumming, it probably is. It was also a "perfect" film, not a bootleg; i.e., not grainy or weird-looking in any way, but super-professional - like a Hollywood movie. If you can copy it and send it, I would pay for postage, plus whatever you want for the video itself.
Peace.

I'd better keep my address quiet because I have the one you speak of in DVD (it has some old B&W films footage included. I also have the Pop Shop on DVD and on the same disc I have the foxtrot tour. there is also an awfull-sounding Parisian concert. I will however keep them in a bank vault because I do not even have a proper DVD player for TV.... I viewed those at a friend's house.

I managed to pick up a DVD copy of this on E-Bay a year or so ago - The track listing is:
I know what I like
Fly On A Windshield
Carpet Crawlers
Cinema Show (only the 2nd half, though)
Suppers Ready (again, only the 2nd half, from 9/8 onward)
Los Endos
The whole thing is only about 50 minutes long, and it does have some typically 1970s 'arty' moments (especially during Banks's solo on Cinema Show), but all in all, a fantastic movie of Genesis on their first post Gabriel outing.
Maani - when I get hold of a DVD burner - yours shall be the first copy made!

DVD-Video |
Genesis LIVE (I know what I like, The musical box u.a.) Liveaufnahmen Shepperton Studios Borehamwood 10.3.1973, Midnight Special - NBC Studios Burbank 12.2.1973 & University Sports Arena Montreal 4.2.1974. 1 Stunde 46 Minuten Spielzeit. FSK o.A. Stereo. DVD
I bought this one at Christmas, the 1973 footings are interesting all the costums are in there Flower, Britannia Watcher etc.and the spoken intros of Gabriel are quiet funny, I love the intro to SR when he is whistling Jerusalem .Sound quality is OK. The rest is not so hot.You can buy it quiet cheap on a german mailorder site.

It may have been called 'A band in concert' I know there was a Genesis film from the ATOTT or WAW era called that. Its just the sort of thing I want as well as earlier footage.
For the moment I may have to content myself with the 'Inside Genesis' DVD from the Gabriel years. Its out this month. It falls short of what us lot really want to see. Its an independant critical review of their music 1970 - 1974. Not an official Genesis relaese, but if the 'Inside Genesis' DVD that focusses on 1975 - 1980 is anything to go by, the live footage will be quite good.

Well...not exactly. My DVD was given to me as an unexpected gift when I contacted one person in my city asking about a copy of Genesis` "FAde 002" CD-R (Genesis Live at Syria Mosque, April 1976). I found his e-mail address in http://www.progscape.com/~fade/ - http://www.progscape.com/~fade/ , and I sent him an e-mail message, saying to him that I don`t have a CD-R burner or other concerts to trade, so, as the rules of FAde about trading say, I said to him that I was going to give to him blank CD-Rs in exchange for the 1976 concert CD-Rs. He was very generous, because after talking by the phone for about 30 mins. about Genesis and other bands, he said to me that he wasn`t going to accept the blank CD-Rs and that he was going to give the copies to me as a gift, and that he also was going to give me a surprise DVD gift! So, one day we met in a place who wasn`t far from each other`s houses, and he gave me the CD-Rs and the DVD. The DVD is without a cover, and it has handwritten in the label "gmDVD08" ("Genesis Museum DVD08", as I later found in the website http://www.genesis-movement.co.uk - http://www.genesis-movement.co.uk ). The DVD has the Shepperton 1973 Concert plus some clips from TV news programmes broadcasts from "The Lamb" tour period, and some other short silent film clips also from "The Lamb" tour. Unfortunately, I also don`t have a DVD burner, so I can`t copy it.
By the way, if some members in this Forum are interested in the FAde CD-Rs, you still can contact people in your country and city to obtain them. There is in that page a "Tree Distribution Structure" to find people who has them. You also can read the rules of trading there. Maybe you could be lucky as me to find a person who also has DVDs of Genesis concerts.

I have a book called "The Complete Rock Family Tress" written and drawn by Pete Frame. In his Family Tree for Genesis (called "Genesis Changes"), he wrote: "A film, "GENESIS IN CONCERT", was premiered at the ABC Cinema in London on 1st February 1977, in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Anne". In http://www.genesismuseum.com - www.genesismuseum.com you can find scans from ads about this film.
In http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:0g1gtq8z9u48 - http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:0g1gtq8z 9u48 I found the film called "Genesis In Concert". It has the same songs Jim Garten listed.

For those who might not know I'm a Die hard Genesis fan.
There are some hard to find bootleg VHS tapes available of various OLD Genesis Concerts.
I have bought at a high price, 4 hours of OLD Genesis material on VHS,
which I will eventually put on DVD .
Its not DVD/studio quality by far (obviously since its copied old 8mm) , but its still great to see !
I may let some members of Prog Archives a chance to get a copy eventually...
For those interested just PM me a message.

Quite right Jim,
They left off The Lamb lies Down on Broadway titlle track. Genesis played a medley of Title track, Fly, Carpet Crawlers and It. Phil introduced it as Lamb Stew. I cna't remember but I don't think they played all of Suppers Ready on this show but did for W&W show the next year. Still was an great concert. Wish they put Dance on a Volcano on the video too.

In the Syria Mosque 1976 concert (available on FAde 002) they played the full version of "Supper`s Ready". I think that the video is edited, so in the video only appear edited versions of "Cinema Show" and "Supper`s Ready", but I think that they played both songs in their entirety.
