Check this Myspace blog: http://www.myspace.com/braulioaspe - http://www.myspace.com/braulioaspe

He’s the bass player of OCTOPUS, but he also was part of AUSTRALIS, a Chilean project that included Braulio, ENTRACE’s guitarist and other musicians from different bands. Tracks 2 and 4 (‘Ganimedes’ & ‘Tribal’, respectively), belong to AUSTRALIS’ only album “TerrAustralis”. They called their style cyber-prog, which consisted of a mixture of hard-jazz rock, prog metal and spacey synth-based adornments, something like PLANET X-meets-OZRIC TENTACLES.

There’s no other place in the Internet where you can find AUSTRALIS audio samples, but here’s a description from Musea ( http://musea.musearecords.com/re_new_catselect.php?np=33366 - http://musea.musearecords.com/re_new_catselect.php?np=33366 ) and it’s already listed at ProgGnosis ( http://www.silverdb.com/MUSIC_DBArtist.asp?txtArtistID=7200 - http://www.silverdb.com/MUSIC_DBArtist.asp?txtArtistID=7200 ).

I think AUSTRALIS would make an interesting entry for the Archives. Dom't you agree?

Thanks, Cesar! Thumbs%20Up I'll definitely listen to them, since they could be good HP material.

Actually, even better...I'VE JUST FOUND OUT AN AUSTRALIS MYSPACE BLOG!!!
Check http://www.myspace.com/australisciber - http://www.myspace.com/australisciber   -  the first track 'Andromeda' is tight, solid and catchy, very accurate to capture the listener's full attention after the 2-minute intro. 'Andromeda' is something that Petrucci or macAlpine would have been proud of!!

Cesar..  great band and would love to add them but I can't find a band photo (and there's an Australian band called Terra Australis, the title of Australis' album, which probably doesn't help them)...  let me know if you have a pic, otherwise I'll add them anyway

thanks
