Revolve is an unsigned psychedelic rock band based in the Los Angeles Underground. A four-piece in all, the members of Revolve stem from Japan, Germany as well as the U.S., adding a cultural diversity to their material. Revolve's unique sound comes from many different influences, including Trance, Ambient, Prog Metal, Drum n' Bass and Ethnic. Other sources of inspiration for Revolves musical expression are various philosophers and visionaries. This band, while on an indefinate hiatus at this present time, independantly released one of the most accomplished indipendant works in the past decade, their self-titled "Revolve" album.
This band, while unsigned, should be included in the archives because they, unlike many other fellow indie artists, truly did something completely fresh and new within their genre, which proves that it is still possible to be truly "progressive" in modern times. The best description I have for their sound is possibly a mixture of Ozric Tentacles with Isis. Really great stuff.

Cool find. I like the many different flavors added to the music. I get reminded of Tool when listening to the band, although at the same time it has it's own unique qualities. Because they have an album out though, I'll get an Admin to move this to the Suggest New Bands section. I feel like they should have a place here, although I'm not 100% sure what to label them as...maybe Eclectic? Heavy? We'll see... |

unsigned bands are considered case by case, but Revolve have a well-recorded CD and are a pro band (whether or not they're progressive is another matter).. the band is hard to categorize-- some Space, some Heavy, some Crossover and yet not necessarily Eclectic, we'll see what people think |
