Djamra is a Japanese avant prog band that i could see recently at the BajaProg Fest, their sound is the crazy and awesome stuff from the Japanese scene, when i saw them it reminded me to both  Le Silo and Naked City music, fans of avant garde prog will love them.

Should have put Japan/ Avant in the title, there are quite a number of people who would have been all over it.  Sugoi! Thumbs%20Up

If someone says that something sounds like Le Silo that basically means that I'm obligated to listen to them, nehhhh?

It will be added... Heck, I'd like to take it for Eclectic, and it does have a jazzy improv feel similar to Bubu (at least temporaily, since it can be moved later, if the others are delayed in decision).  Terrific!

You might not care for the amount of guitar though.  This is how to do lead electric guitar for me.  Seriously good music.

Clap  now that's some damn good music...

a no-brainer for addition...  be it eclectic, J-R, or avant.

if I was stearing them... I'd say let the J-R'ers have first crack at them.

Guillermo.. you heard them and saw them.. where do you think they should go?

J-R's and Avanteers should be very interested.  I think Avant, as is suggested in the first post, but it could fit either (also got a fun Samla Mammas Manna feel in part)..

I just posted asking if your reaction was more sh*ts or giggles ;), but deleted it as you posted just before, and have answered that question.

oh, hmm, that's fun =) more funk than anyone is admitting

it's really too muso for me... I had a similar problem with salle gaveau and machine/synergetic nuts, but the band's good and undeniably prog-tastic

It's Avant Fusion to my ear.  And hey, I love funk (especially jazzy funk and funky jazz).

I personally think avant is the one that fits the band better, i own one of their albums where i can listen to the jazz, funk and avant garde music, but for me Avant-prog would be the choice.

But let´s see what the ZART and the J/F team think.

Highly Interesting band, judging from the MySpace tracks, the jazz influences are quite strong, I wouldn't go as far as AvantProg, their harmonic and melodic material is most of the time "In" and rather tame (in comparaison to Freeform music), they play most of the time binnary so JR seems a good choice IMO. But Guillermo heard an entire record so he has a broader perspective....

BTW I would be interested to have a file...
