Let me consider "One Size Fits All" a personal classic of mine. "Over-nite Sensation" is not bad either, but since I can only vote one.. no comment on "Apostrophe" here..

Overnite sensation....the solo in Montana, possibly one of the best recorder guitar solos ever,Ruth's stellar xylophone work throughout, but particularly 50-50....

I agree! It's a true SYMPHONIC PROG masterpiece, perhaps not quite on the same level as SELLING ENGLAND or CLOSE TO THE EDGE (not as visionary), but more varied and exciting than FOXTROT or GOING FOR THE ONE - and with considerably better playing.

Well.. Cheers! lol.
Ok, gun is to my head.. I have to pick one, I still love the other two with all my heart.

This is a tough choice cacho. I'm going to have to think about it, but it'll either be Apostrophe or Overnite

Apostrophe ( ) followed by One Size. Honestly, I don't find Over Nite all that great... sounds to me like Zappa may have been eating some yellow snow when he made that one...

Drugs? If that's what you meant I'm far as concerned that Zappa never druged hiself.

Overnite has a raunchy feel with some rough tunes like "Dirty Love", "I am the Slime" , "Camarillo Brillo" and the ever popular zircon encrusted "Dinamo-hum" . In fact the whole thing is singularly brilliant and at the time, extremely "pushing the envelope" of censors. Ahhh Heady days, those.

Tough choice. I vote One Size Fits All, even though musically it may not be as accessible as the other two. It is perfection. Overnite Sensation musically is almost mainstream rock, but in this politically correct age there are some who object to Dinah-Moe. Same thing with Apostrophe(').

Of the three, Apostrophe should win easily, but Hot Rats is more accessible than all of them, and Waka-Jawaka isn't far behind. If Joes' Garage is allowed, that one is about as acessible as Apostrophe.

I wouldn't got that far, but Overnite would not be an album that I would recommend to a first time Zappa listener. And not because of the lyrics, either. If I'm recommending you some Zappa, I WANT you to be offended.

I think in the end, I have to go with Overnite. As much as I love Apostrophe, I just consider Overnite to be a more essential Zappa album.
