Hello, fellow Prog friends. I am huge progressive rock fan as you guys and also a graphic designer.I had done this work in photoshop in tribute to my favorite concept albums plus other album ( I also love) that I thought would look good in the collage. So I just wanted to share it with you guys. h, I almost forgot to tell you. take a real good look OK! . you might see images that wouldn't see if your first glance is too quick.

This isn't lacking in any way... but I can't help thinking of variations.
I think it would also be cool to see one done with the artwork only... and don't include the actual names of the bands in their corresponding fonts. ------------- If it's worth playing, it's worth playing loud! |

 of course not Rush got to be there I am a huge Rush fan. I was going to put the star man from 2112 but the image that I have was a very low resolotion one. So it wasn't as good as this one. The little Dark Side of the Moon prism was the easiest to miss. I actually didn't notice the Schizoid Man from the "In the court of the Crimson King" artwork the first time and the Pink Floyd Pig was another I didn't notice at first either. |

Hum!!!
 thinking about the composition? about 3 days . 3 hours each day total of 9 hours
looking for the albums covers on the Internet took about 3 to 4 hours. looking for hight resolutions images is a tough work. so in total I would say it took 5 hours.
when I had all the images all ready and i was ready to start doing the editing in Photoshop . I can say that it took me about a week dpoing the editing. each day 2 to 3 hours but on the last fews day it took about 4 to 6 hours. So, again I would say it was of 25 hours.
what really took time and patients were using the Poligram lasso and Eraser Tools
in adobe photoshop CS2..
so it really took 39 Hours

| Awesome. Hey, could you do one with more obscure prog bands or maybe an all Italian collage. What would be even cooler is doing a collage by what country the band comes from. For example: Italy, Bands: Banco, Le Orme, Il Balletto Di Bronzo, The Watch, La Maschera Di Cera, Time Machine, and so many more I could list over a hundred great Italian releases. Not all the covers were great, but bands like Banco and Le Orme have great covers. |

I am huge fan of the italian Prog bands as well Le Orme is one of all time fav. I am in the process of doing another collage with albums suggested from the fans here at PA. this one is going to be huge and a lot albums are going to be there even a Le Orme and PFM album is going to be there, but that sound cool to one with prog albums by the countries. Believe it is a lot work and it takes years... the software is huge and complicated, but once you learn it or at least have a hang of it you can do some many created things and have a lot fun. Give it a try also the software cost me $500.00 dollars. So beware of that. Man! Pah! Photoshop is a piece of cake to learn - if it wasn't then graphic artists would never be able use it
It does take a while to master though and it still requires a good artist (like yourself) to make it really sing. ------------- What? |

Seeing that back slapping is the norm and no one wants to state the obvious i will.
Where the hell is ELP, after all if Supertramp can get in there....why can't arguably the biggest prog band of the 70's, maybe not in sales, but definitely live be included.....obviously blind to real prog. |
