I found this CD ( best of compilation ) of Junoon the other day in a world music sales bin and I was quite curious because it was released by by EMI Arabia. I looked for infos : Junoon is a Pakistanian band that blends rock, pop and Folk into a particular form named Sufi Rock, with lyrics and vocals in Urdu, the official Pakistanian langugae. The  founder and main composer Salman Ahmad is influenced by Led Zeppelin and Santana and gives the otherwise pop oriented music a rockier edge. Junoon are quite big in Pakistan and  India and played on a lot of festivals like Roskilde and have been invited for the millenium peace concert organized by the UNESCO in Paris in 1999. It's an interesting mixture of indian rhythms and instruments, pop oriented songwriting and rock instrumentation and some nice guitar playing.

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"
