One of the most haunting and unique bands that were in the original Rock in Opposition against possibly the paradigmatic progressive rock group throughout the 1970s. I sense that there could be a blowout here, but best of luck to both sides!

Please
: If you are not familiar with one or both of the band's material, I urge that you use the links provided and at least listen to the samples on their respective pages (or Youtube if the particular band has no online streaming).

Two absolutely unique bands, both being alltime favorites of mine.

I choose Univers Zero because I bet GG will win this one anyway..

When I like both bands, I usually go for the underdog. In this case, I think I like GG just a little too much to vote against them.

Now Camel are out, GG are getting my vote to the end (unless IQ or Mostly Autumn come up).

If you heard just one album, how can you be so sure then? Btw: Which album?

Anyway, its two fantastic bands representing everything I love about the prog I love. I'll admit I went for UZ mainy because they had to few votes. Always dug GG, but grown to love UZ a little extra (revisiting their three first) just the last couple of weeks.

1313 and Acquiring the Taste are my two favorites.

voted for UZ. Honestly I think there are around four indispensable albums by each group but at their best, UZ speak to me a little more.

Went with UZ because I really can't choose, and I want this poll to be a bit closer.  I'm confident GG will prevail here.

Went with UZ, but as with many others, I won't be dissapointed if Gentle Giant wins Smile.

As wonderful as GG are, I have to go with the Belgian chamber avant prog masters this time.

Love both, but went with the underdog.  And unlike Gentle Giant, every Univers Zero album is very good (I thought GG's final three studio albums stunk).

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Univers Zero is a great band but as good as the Mighty Gentle Giant.

UZ are too experimental and after while their music become a bit boring... However with GG after a while it bet better and better...
and I want to make it clear that i have both band albums...

I have to confess I've sticked too long to listening to my faves over and over again, so I've never heard anything of UZ so far. I seeing GG on the lead with a 2/3 majority of votes. There is a great chance that I should vote for GG because I can't imagine UZ making me go bananas, but nevertheless I skip this round, preferring prudence above prejudice this time...
