Well almost - Marianne Faithfull did a cover of "The Crane Wife". Let's just say her voice has seen better days.

This I would like to have seen.  Of course her voice had seen better days wha? 20 years ago.  But she has a way of adding a sort of world-weariness to anything she covers.

On her album Kissin' Time, there's a cover of Herman's Hermits I'm Into Something Good, which given where and who she was when that was recorded back in 1964 has so many layers of irony that I'm still trying to deconstruct it.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.
