Well, the other day I was with my new girlfriend (she adores music but doesn't know anything about prog) and I decided to put on Shine On You Crazy Diamond. I thought it would create some kind of sexual atmosphere, and I can tell you it worked damn fine. It was a moment of pure magic, and I'm sure a lot of Pink Floyd stuff can do the same.
Now I'm thinking about other prog albums that make things hotter. I've been listening to Gates Of Delirium and Awaken by Yes and I thought it would be awesome, in fact i'm already having a progasm just by thinking about this virtuoso madness and the instruments clashing into an endless duel. These songs are just so... organic, intense, passionate. They bring me close to the edge of the nirvana of sex. Alas, I know she will not appreciate the experience as much as me. Maybe I will succeed to guide her gradually into my musical world; she is pretty open-minded.
ELP can work fine with me, though I am the only one who will get really excited while listening to Abbadon's Bolero. Maybe it's too extreme for a prog novice, but all these synths exploding from everywhere are just so gorgeous.
What do you think ? Any suggestions ?

Mmm I see... the music of the bodies fusing together... That's kind of prog.
Wait, Aprodite's Child did it in 666... Listen to ''Infinity''

Good luck with that Gates of Delirium try.....
How about Gentle Giant's "Knots?"
Opeth's "Drapery Falls" or "Hessian Peel" - about the time things get fun he'll start growling, she'll love that.
I actually thought "Blood of Eden" and some of the other songs off "Us" would work well but my wife prefers jazz....I'm quite a jazz fan now.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Best sex I've ever had.
And at all costs, avoid Jethro Tull

Allthough I always use my turntable when at home, it goes off during intimicy. I'm a musician and I get very inferred, especially when playing prog. My girlfriend also doesn't like prog during actionromantics. Actually there is this one cd: Erotic Lounge: deluxe edition.

I think Animals would be great, even if some would consider it depressive. The problem with Meddle is Seamus... Probably the most sexually uninsteresting song in their catalogue.
The advantage with prog is the average length of the songs. It gives more time to build an ambience.

Jazz works well in this household, fusion or not, but Vangelis creates the best atmosphere overall, and usually isn't too distracting when things get rolling. There is a distinct advantage for having a CD deck which can play multiple disks. I've also discovered the benefit of having long playlists stored on the computer.

Myself I've only tried music once, and it worked. It wasn't prog though, I don't think prog would work. My pick was Andres Segovia, very chilling stuff.

I find it kind of funny that Sheik Yerbouti hasn't been mentioned yet. There's plenty of "I have been in you" and "Ram it up your poop shute" to go around.

I like the Godspeed You Black Emperor choices, though my first choice would be:
Night - Gazpacho
Runner's up include:
Tick Tock - Gazpacho The Sky Moves Sideways - Porcupine Tree Voyage 34 - Porcupine Tree The Dark Third - Pure Reason Revolution Songs from the Lighthouse - Moongarden Anything by Enigma, not necessarily prog, but it sets a good scene regardless.
Enjoy,

Take "Sanctuary," "Fritha," and "The Snow Goose" from The Snow Goose by Camel.
"Lazarus" by Porcupine Tree works well.
Also, damn near anything by The Decemberists.

I know this sounds really weird, but I've had sex with Agalloch playing in the background. My parents were home at the time in the lounge room watching TV with my and my girlfriend at the time in my bedroom and I didn't really want to expose the rest of the household to the noise of our 'activities' and Agalloch was the first thing I could find in my bedroom to put on to drown out the noise. Whether it's good intercourse music, I can't say, but Not Unlike The Waves with the "drowning" intro certainly muffles the sound of two teenagers keeping busy.

I'm 15 (and a virgin on the prowl... Not really though as that would be illegal )
Marillion - Kayleigh (It's probably normal for someone my age to suggest 50CENT or something)
YES - Roundabout
Genesis - Firth Of Fifth
Marillion - Grendel (I have this image of the supposed "Supper's Ready" rip off beat playing... think about it)
That's about it...
Perhaps...
Marillion - Easter (For reals, that would be mega cool)
Marillion - Hooks In You (A good 2:58 of laughs)

Anything by Massive Attack works especially well, Sigur Ros, particularly the Takk album Godspeed you! Black Emperor listening to CAN while fooling around is actually kind of fun. until damo starts shreiking. . . . (one more night, anything off Future days) Explosions in the sky
. . . so basically post rock.
