Syrius was a Hungarian symphonic prog band formed in 1970 by bassist and vocalist Jackie (or Miklos, I don't know) Orszaczky. They released one album, called Devil's Masquerade, released under the Hungarian label, Hungaroton. The band featured no guitar on their studio albums, only using guitar while performing live. Band leader Jackie (Orszackzky) died of an illness in the morning of February 3rd, 2008.

Here's an audio sample of the band playing 21st Century Schizoid Man, probably live, as it wasn't on their studio album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY6HaKdqgjg&feature=related - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY6HaKdqgjg&feature=related

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

If memory serves, the band played rather jazz-rock than sympho.

I'd call it symph though, there are too many symph influences to be called J-Prog

My father liked them and he even has an LP. I've not heard it yet, though, but he said they were a great jazz fusion band.
