ROHMER, from Italy, an off-shoot from FINISTERRE – their eponymous debut album has been postponed for too long in the Archives. I think it’s high time they were included in PA. Here’s a Youtube video for one of the album’s tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx1psYRt4CE - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx1psYRt4CE

A couple of tracks here in their Myspace blog: http://www.myspace.com/rohmerofficial - http://www.myspace.com/rohmerofficial

Their music is based on an eclectic confluence of jazz-rock, ambient and slight symphonic touches.

I think we discussed it with you in the Eclectic thread about seven months ago (that's when I added it to Prog Freak -- shame that search in body of posts is disabled since it would make it easier to find the past discussion).  We voted "move".

Was it discussed with the RPI or Crossover team?  Listening to the youtube track which I'm sure I've heard before.  I like it muchly, but didn't think it particularly well-suited to Eclectic (perhaps due to it's easy-listening ambient elements).  That's not a Rohmer original is it?  I know that piece so very well.

After Eclectic, what is your second category suggestion?

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

With the new RPI def in place, perhaps that may be the most suitable home.

I'll put them on the RPI "to do" list so long as the OP can confirm no one else currently has them under eval.  Let me know.  Thanks.

Uhm...I'm working on adding him to JR/F (under Nu-Jazz) as we speak.

He's all yours Rico.  I don't believe he would have survived our vote anyway.  Great music thoughClap
Thanks for letting us know.
