Do you mean a left-handed guitar, or a guitar played upside-down? There's lots of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_musicians_who_play_left_handed - left-handed guitarists , and also some that play a right-handed guitar upside down (Bob Geldof for example).

I think what is meant is reverse guitar...the tape or track recorded but played backwards.

Thanks that is exactly what I meant for example the Beatles "I'm Only Sleeping" and Hendrix "Are You Experienced" are songs that use that effect.

It on quite a few tracks of Syd Barrett's solo albums. I believe the song Gigolo Aunt is a good example.
