I'm very interested in the 60's and 70's Dark Psychedelic like early
Pink Floyd and Message. Can anyone recommend some songs like.. Careful With That Axe Eugene, Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun, A Saucerful of Secrets Thank You

First thing to come to mind is Can's "Tago Mago" album. Pretty much the whole album is like that, and it's a double!

| O well, just had to make sure, for if you liked those songs Live in Pompeii was a must have. Any Pink Floyd bootlegs that you know of with really good sound quality? I don't know many bootlegs, and most of the ones I've heard have terrible quality and don't really like hearing them. One exception is Smoking Blues, and I really like that concert. As far as I know there must be some rather good BBC recordings, but haven't got them. |

A newer band you might like, Om, a lot of their stuff is "drone metal" their chilled out stuff reminds me of that era of Floyd, really embracing eastern influences. The album God is Good is all like that: ------------- Mom, I tore a big hole in the convertible |

Aphrodite's Child's 666 album to a certain extent comes to mind.

I think a lot of Krautrock has a kind of dark, psychadelic vibe. Try early Amon Duul II and maybe even some early Popol Vuh. |
