Well, there's the obvious: Neal Morse. You've also got Cryptic Vision (a lot like Kansas), Kerry Livgren's Seeds Of Change, Glass Hammer, Salem Hill, Iona (spiritual prog with a Celtic flair...awesome band), Ajalon. Those are the only ones I can think of right now.

I'd be interested in this too.
I can't add much except that Arena Songs from the Lion's Cage seems biblically-themed.
Also, I typically refer to this as "God-Prog"...as in, "Jimmy might get really freaked out if we put the God-Prog on!" Anyone else use this term?

Listen to "Jesus Christ Superstar" and forget about Christian prog. I don't think it's possible to make something, musically and lyrically, of the same level.

Glory Road, Arizona, 70s with Greg Williams on guitar. Prog parts though, not a prog album, as it were. Not so easy to find either. If you like hard rock in more of a acid-psych format, checkout "Moonblood" by Fraction. That's not at all a prog album, but excellent nonetheless.

Epignosis self-titled has received various very high ratings: http://www.progarchives.com/album-reviews.asp?id=24140 - http://www.progarchives.com/album-reviews.asp?id=24140 I've only heard the myspace: http://www.myspace.com/epignosismusic - http://www.myspace.com/epignosismusic
Note: Torman Maxt is another Christian act that springs to mind, but it is not, generally-speaking, a very highly regarded band at PA. Not my cup of tea, but the latest album has some high ratings. http://www.progarchives.com/album-reviews.asp?id=16857 - http://www.progarchives.com/album-reviews.asp?id=16857

King's X were once labelled Christian. They don't claim to be a Christian band but are a good band to check out anyway (though they are only prog-related).

"The Judas Kiss" by The Flower Kings.
An alternate retelling of the last days of Jesus, wherein Jesus and his disciples are being chased in the snow by wolves. How much more badass does it get than that?

Pretty highly. I especially enjoy the live versions with the Stash jam in the middle.
The Flower Kings actually have a number of biblically themed songs. "Go West Judas", "Humanizzimo", "Adam & Eve", "Touch My Heaven". Not sure if Roine Stolt is actually religious or if he just finds the mythology interesting, but it's cool nonethless.

Proto-Kaw was
not mentioned. Kerry Livgren wrote the songs for their two studio
albums listed here, and both albums are excellent. I would even recommend their early recordings if you are a fan of Van der Graaf Generator (expect Livgren's early mysticism lyrics there).
Also, Neal Morse's ? Live is brilliant (especially lyrically- some of those songs leave me speechless).
And who said my album is "Christian?"

An interview with Ajalon is already there. But why restricting yourself to Christian ? The issue of Jessica Simpson says everything about why this secular/Christian barrier (Berlin wall) is silly. If you are interested in music that is not in English, there are a couple of Italian Seventies albums that were conceived as music to be played during religious worship. Here is a link to one (unfortunately not included on this site): http://www.italianprog.com/a_uverosse.htm%20%20 - http://www.italianprog.com/a_uverosse.htm As you can see, there are other similar albums mentioned, some of which are instead featured in our database.

would be curious to hear some.. not that it will save my damned to hell soul... but from a total curiosity standpoint. Would love to hear how it was done. I've love to hear the 10 commandments put to music, prog style haha

perfect sense... that was the whole basis of my reviewing style.. like my DT review that turned people's head in knots to rate something so higher than I obviously disliked..err. hated so much.
I have always had a love of spiritual music .... especially gospel music. . I tend to march to my own beat when it comes to religion and spirituality... and find music to be much better expression of my beliefs and my spirituality. than 'being seen' once a week in a chuch. To be honest.. that is what surprised many most about me once they get to know me.. considering I haven't met a sin I didn't like.. is just how spiritual.. religious.. whatever you want to call it... that I actually am. Anyhow.. enough on that. Thanks again Scott... looking forward to hearing that in it's entirety.

Is not Torman Maxt a local Florida band ? In that case, an invitation to your church may be in order. Florida is a big state, but check them out. Their music is in the mainstream Yes/Genesis/Rush bracket.

I was just listening to Iona's "Book of Kells" today and I'd forgotten how stunning it is. There is such depth to the recordings that it literally takes me into a spiritual plane that is invigorating and tranquil at the same time. Highly recommended.

I was going to ask Fargo . . .
How HEAVY are you willing to go? Because someone mentioned "Extol" !
I know this is a Oxymoron but there are a few Technical/Thrash/Death Metal/Math Metal
bands like Extol, Believer (on "Demensions" they do an Epic Track based on "Adam and
Eve") and Tournaquet. Cynic and Aghora are very spiritual but in a Bhudist sense.
(OOPS! "Progressive" mentioned the Believer Track, they were really ahead of their time
with the "Math/Death Metal", especially for a Christian Band in 1990 -93).
Some that have been mentioned I recommend too :
Either theyre "Christian" or spiritual overtones . . .
1. Iona ("Jouney into the Morn" is really awesome, I think its their most proggie).
2. Cryptic Vision
3. Kings X
4. Kansas- a. Kerry Livgren
b. A.D.
c. Proto~Kaw
5. Neal Morse
6. Transatlantic
7. Magnum (Chase the Dragon, The Eleventh Hour and On a Storytellers Night are great!)
8. Petra
9. Seiges Even (Especially their last album "Paramount")
10. Everon
11. Orphaned Land
12. Enchant (?)
13. Jack Foster III
14. Magellan
SYZYGY I need to hear, I JUST requested it on progulus
Orphan Project, Theocracy, and InnerSiege I need to check out there too!
If I think of others I'll put them up here. I did not know that Hourglass was, and their great!
(I just don't own any of their CD's yet hear on a regular basis at Progulus).
