To my knowledge, Echoes isn't an instrumental.

No, it isn't, although most of it is. I love the vocals on that song, so mellow...
And I like "Abismo Terrenal" a lot too.

"Group Therapy" from Steve Hackett's "Highly Strung" album. The way keyboards and guitar dance around each other surely is fascinating.

It's a travesty that Liquid Tension Experiment isn't being mentioned at all.  Biaxident, Paradigm Shift..awesome!

Clap by YES is awesome, Lark's Tongue in Aspic pts. 1 and 2 are great. 2112 overture has some amazing moments. And .3 by Porcupine Tree. And how could I forget YYZ!

Genesis - All in a mouses night into ...in that quiet earth
Franky Z. - Peaches en Regalia
Camel - Rhayader
Steve Howe - Mood for a day
(I was going to simply put Wakeman's Six Wives, but Steve is a nice change from my Wakeman obsession for once )
King Crimson - Red
Glass Hammer - Chronos Deliverer
ELP - Hoedown

Both LTE2 and Spastic Inc's Inc compatible are awsome but I'll go for Steve Morse's fantastic instrumental, High Tension Wires:

My ALL-TIME FAVORITE is King Crimson's "The Sheltering Sky": it literally takes me to another world whenever I listen to it, especially the part near the end where Fripp ends the psychotic lead swells and starts playing full chords that sound like a real synthesizer and not a guitar synth. Absolutely breathtaking; his "trumpet" leads are so amazing on this piece ( http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=191 - it's one of the mp3's on this site , for those who have not heard it yet).

I also love King Crimson's "Red", Dream Theater's "Overture 1928", "Dance of Eternity", and "Erotomania" (especially the amazing middle part)
