Well, first of all: Hi ;)

Introvision is a Costa Rican prog band that have been active since 2003, yet, just until now they released their debut album: 08:36:59.

I think they fit really good under the Heavy Prog label, although, if someone can give second opinion, would be great.

Here are some links with the info of the band, streaming, and all that:

http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/introvision" rel="nofollow - http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/introvision

And here are two full songs that the band uploaded to youtube:

Let me know if you need something else (I guess I can contact the band for info or so..)
Thanks!

Very good stuff! Excellent suggestion. The band sounds like Haken, somewhere between Prog Metal and Heavy Prog. I don't know where they'd fit best, but I'l start by asking the Heavy Prog team for the evaluation.

Good to see that you guys like it! I've become quite addicted to this album :P

Now that you mention it, 08:36:59 does sound a bit like Aquarius. Even both concepts are related to the sea. (08:36:59 concept is about a lonely sailor who becomes adrift after a storm, so the album narrates his last days on the sea). Although Introvisión sound is a bit darker, and less vocal driven.

I prefer to call them Heavy Prog because, the whole album in question has more bits aiming to that direction than to the Metal part. Also, I know that the band doesn't consider themselves metal, they prefer the heavy, experimental prog rock tag.

just detected this thread - I believe they belong to eclectic prog ... Smile
could listen to the entire album ... tricky songs with a wonderous blend of different prog styles ... great band indeed
so I had forwarded a submission to the team some days ago already ...

Ohh well, hi again ; )

Just wanted to know where this headed up, it was from my understanding that one of the members of the spoke with someone else here, I'm guessing it was Rivertree. I also thought of ecletic, although, in my less-than-stellar prog knowledge Heavy Prog looked like a better way, but thinking it now, the whole album does have a really big landscape of sounds and styles (the two songs here may show some of the heavier side)

Anyway, after so many listens, I think I'll be good to write a review as soon as the band is online.  An also, for those interested, I think that now there are physical copies available on cd baby. The artwork is quite good (although, I got myself one of the limited editions =P)

good listening.

Approve
no doubt about the prog essence and quality ... it is only a matter to find the appropriate subgenre in the end ... I hope it won't take too long
review is in the making ...

I think it was approved for heavy prog, in which case it's a matter of preparing the addition.  If you PM the Whistler or Atavachron, and are willing to help prepare the addition, then that should speed things up.
