Is this the same Quasar? I feel like it's not but who knows.

No, I checked PA and threads before making my many suggestions, I'm 99 percent sure.

Interesting stuff. I'll shoot the suggestion over to ZART.

Good stuffs indeed ... listened to their samples via two albums, felt they might have avant / jazz / heavy mixture, more versatile than pure avant-progressive. Better for Eclectic IMHO.

So not eclectic and not avant enough to fit in any of the two subgenres but prog enough and elements of both? Does it mean Xover?

They did get one yes vote from Eclectic. Possible Re-evaluation?

I remembered the name, so I clicked on this thread -- one I didn't evaluate while still on that team, despite addiing it the
eclectic chart after T Rox brought it to the team.
www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=50073" rel="nofollow - www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=50073 because it was felt that JRF would fit it better than Eclectic. T Rox had originally suggested it for Avant, but someone had suggested that it would be better for Eclectic, so he brought it to our team, where the opiniion was expressed that JRF should take a look at this to get their opinion. It got one yes vote for JRF, and one close, maybe avant vote. Don't see any other comments, but they may be there. I'm not quite sure how that team has organised and kept track of all its suggestions over the years, they have a chart now, but they had some other system before. Might want to PM a JRF team member and see what happened with the evaluation.
Based on those samples, I wouldn't think Avant, more Eclectic oriented with Hendrixian swagger. It's not perfect for Eclectic, an easy blend of at least three Prog category styles with no referential core. I think Fusion is at the core, so I can see why the Eclecticians wanted to see what JRF thought even if some psych and somewhat avant elements. Just two tracks is not enough to judge, though. Should hear music from both albums.
This is from Man Coda:
I would think JRF could work, and I guess it's still under evaluation by them since I can't see any resolution in that thread. PR might work too.

Slightly off topic, I love how much thought goes into all this. Man, this is my fav website for the musics. :-)

They're a little rough around the edges, but we added them to the Jazz Related Rock section at the jazz site. http://http://www.jazzmusicarchives.com/" rel="nofollow - http://www.jazzmusicarchives.com/
