Hmmm.... I'll notify the Psych team, but these guys may have an even better case in Proto-Prog, so you'll have to get the support of a Special collab. That is if they don't pass for Psych.

Okay, it is from 1968 so so if anyone collabs are willing to pick it up if it does not pass.

For me they sound less Proto-ish than 13th Floor Elevators. Smile

Sounds like pre-Roxy Music, even the singer sounds like Bryan Ferry.

R&B with latin, jazz, avant thrown discretely into the mix = proto-prog.

great song Smile  the Roxy Music reference fits - and a jazzy Chicago or Blood, Sweat & Tears touch
this is not psych/space prog in any case - probably proto prog

Anyone willing to champion them for inclusion under Proto-Prog?

Decent band, on the border of progressive rock/progressive pop; the real issue is a single track is simply insufficient to sponsor for Proto.   I would say the same for the even less progressive (and crippling) 'Billy the Birdman'.   Further, the cut on the whole is not unusually progressive, which is to say easily 75% of bands between about '68 and '73 were at one point or another doing "prog" or had done "protoprog", and this track, though surely psychedelic and para-progressive, is not distinguished from other similar acts of the time that are not on PA (though that does not disqualify an artist for inclusion) .

At this time I'm unconvinced, but if the rest of the album is more progressive (Proto), I'd be willing to listen.
