I'm surprised that I haven't seen much talk about this album. I recommend that if you're a fan of eclectic and cryptic lyrics, a unique vocal stlye, blending of various genres, intricate keyboard and guitar work that melds together and plays off each well. than you owe to yourself to check out this album.

Though its heavier than their last album, Fables From a Mayfly What I Tell Yuo Three Times is True, it still contains elements of what made that album great and expands on thier unique approach in new ways. I love both albums to death and find them to be one of the best  "cross over" prog bands out there.

I've been listening to Arrows & Anchors a lot over the past few days and I really like it a lot more than Fables. I think the heavier sound suits them better.

Fables is a pretty decent record, albeit stylistically rather one-dimensional. Despite descriptions to the contrary I don't really buy them as 'prog' - more a slightly quirky indie/alt-rock band. Interested enough to check out some more stuff at some point Approve
