No opinion. Don't know any of them. I may have heard the free mp3 of After Crying once. Back when this site had free mp3s up for download.

Thanks !! Your topics always so good and informative. I like you talk.

I was thinking the same. It's surprising. I thought The Decemberists would get much more support.

So The Decemberists are going to lose? Great. Once again the PA masses shoots down modern prog. I am disappoint.

Oh, come on! Look at the results on this round. The tendency seems to be quite the opposite. Opeth over Pendragon, Birds And Buildings over Ozric Tentacles, Dream Theater over Talk Talk...

Sick of all these symphonic bands.

The early avantgarde output from After Crying is amazing (the debut especially), I dunno what to vote.

I would vote for The Decemberists, although I do like After Crying a lot. But things are interesting, so far, so I'll hold my vote.

Then again, winner faces PT, so this is pointless for both bands.

I really like both bands but have to go with the Decemberists.  After Crying's first two albums are stunning, but IMHO they never quite reached the same heights with their later work and certainly didn't stretch themselves musically as much as the Decemberists have.

The Decemberists for me. After Crying is pretty great, but IMO Picaresque/The Crane Wife/Hazards of Love are better than most of what AC did.

The Decembrists Hazards of Love is the best folk prog album of all time. Yes even better than Jethro Tull.

Although choosing between them and PT would make me explode, possibly.

Would it be unfair to mention GY!BE's loss?

Or would that be kicking a dead horse?

Banality is in the eye of the beholder. You must have cataracts. I chose The Decemberists. Great band.

Who are After Crying?

After Crying by a country mile.

The Decemberists are a nice folk/Indie band but the guys from Hungary are simply amazing, with "Overground Music", "After Crying 6" and "De Profundis" as their peak...Real masterpieces.

After Crying. A presumably good band that nobody seems to have heard of can knock out a great popular act like The Decemberists.

But GY!BE can't knock out Spocks Beard. wtf.

Not so incredible when a band makes so good music. I have to say thanks to PA otherwise I wouldn't have heard of them probably.
