Just wondered (again) i also found this  http://Lumsk%20for%20Progressive%20Metal%20" rel="nofollow - http://Lumsk for Progressive Metal   so they have been suggested before, and also agreed on to be evaluated and another truthful and wise member also verified their placement or their case as a positive, but it seemed that it never came anywhere and died out, so can it be looked into or the old thread be reopened so it can pre-seed there

They haven't released a new album since they were rejected, so they're not eligible for re-evaluation.

i just listen to the band Geysir and i really liked them but it striked  me as odd that they came in and Lumsk did not, since they are basicly very similar though Geysir  is les heavy then Lumsk they have exactly the same elements, violin, female vocals, singing in their own tongue, reflecting mythology and old-germanic folk-tales, mix of heavy, folk, soft piano melodies, progressions and odd time signature, so why they are NOT progressive rock and Geysir is are  beyond me, it just looks like wrong to me, you also have the band SubRose who is even heavier that have similar elements the violins, the female voice in own tongue, reciting old-Gaelic and folklore inspired music,

so you have geyser a heavy but not that heavy band that are in PA who is exactly use the same elements as Lumsk and you have SubRose who are the heavyest who use the same elements as Lumsk. so, PA don't usually care for other sites labeling habits, but if Gate is labeled progressive rock, with the same reasons Lumsk is labeled as progressive rock/metal in Wikipedia how is the parameter different in PA,

how is this lesser prog then what i heard on bandcamp for Geysir

to me Lumsk is like a heavier version of Gentle Giant, really the use of folk melodies are kinda similar to m ears

also we can also recite to the eclecticism in the band cause it is not an constantly onslaught of heavy riff, this is an intelligent and technical band, really skilled musicians who push norwegian folk melodies to the edge in a metal/rock fashion no bands that is not black metal or viking metal have done, they are playing everything from soft songs, heavy songs and complex songs, the songs also develop from soft, to heavy, don't  follow normal verse - chores - and things like that, no far from it,  poetic songs that take a life on its own and PROGRESS structurally, they use prog-folk elements (violins, harding fiddle, traditional  instrument who is important for one section prog folk, but they are to heavy for prog folk, but they don't use growls or grunts so they don't fit into tech/extreme ether, but they use a varied and array of elements from all over the musical spectre, classical, jazz, folk, chanting, poems, literature,

songs like this is an example of their moving into different musical landscapes (like a progressive rock band), sort of Jethro Tull with a female vocals and ads a flavor with the violin

this is also progressive rock

Lumsk weren't rejected but moved on to the Prog Folk team.

I don't know Geysir but we judged Subrosa to be heavy, psychedellic and post-y enough for exp/post metal. I don't hear much of a resemblance between Lumsk and Subrosa though.

To me it is a travesty that Lumsk is not in PA while Gåte is here, Lumsk is 10 (ten) times more progressive then Gåte, and much more interesting in their instrumentation,

Lumsk is a  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folk_metal" rel="nofollow - folk metal  band from  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trondheim" rel="nofollow - Trondheim ,  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway" rel="nofollow - Norway . It combines traditional  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_folk_music" rel="nofollow - Norwegian folk music  and  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folklore" rel="nofollow - folklore  with  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_roll" rel="nofollow - rock ,  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_rock" rel="nofollow - progressive rock  and  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal_music" rel="nofollow - metal . The group has both male and female vocals with violin, guitar and drums.

a long epic song devided in 4 tracks
