This will get some boos from the audience, but I never really got off on La Villa. I thought it was kind of a weak way to end the album.

^Oh dear. ^^I can see how you would think that, the song seems kind of pointless at first; like the subtitle says, "an exercise in self-indulgence." But I interpret the song as an instrumental depiction of the reason-emotion dichotomy that forms the main theme of the album. ------------- I love dogs, I've always loved dogs |

Circumstances, easily. Really good song with the clever lyrics and the festive middle, but it doesn't even hold a candle to the three other monsters.

The Trees
I can take or leave that song, these days. It's nothing special. I prefer the lyrics, riffs and feel of 'Circumstances' Hemispheres is flawed, but has moments of brilliance, and La Villa.. is arguably their finest work, so The Trees is a fairly easy choice for me. ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |

The Trees for me. Circumstances is too static for me. The bridge is fantastic in The Trees and welcomes a wonderful Lifeson solo. ------------- Crushed like a rose in the riverflow. |
