After too long an absence, here is the next installment of the 1970s Italian prog polls.

The first batch of C-D albums is a real challenge...

Good luck!

Edit: This poll matches one of the crazier RPI titles (Cervello) with probably the most refined (Celeste). Mixed in are a more traditional prog sound (Cherry Five), heavy Italian prog (De De Lind), and two RPI classic-sounding albums (Campo and Delirium).

I know the majority of the albums on this list, and although all very good, I have a lot of love for that third Delerium album! Love the lead singers deep dark scratchy voice, the dirty waffling sax....I could go on!

A terrific album! Their more recent `Il Nome Del Vento' was damn good too!

^ Michael (ABB), no doubt! The new album is not to be missed. And this for me is easily their 1970s peak.

^^^ Pierre, maybe I should make these polls multiple votes allowed!

Hey Todd! I'll be honest...That recent one was their first album that I heard, and it was only when I mentioned it to my friend Tom Ozric from the Archives that he suggested looking into that `Third' album.

Of course, one purchase later, cue cliched `Where have you been all my life?!' exclamation lol!

That live DVD/CD combo that came out a year or so back is a blowout too!

^ That cliched sentiment happens to me again and again with this RPI stuff. Just can't get enough now!

Why you gotta be like this Todd ?
Man this is tough. Celeste and Campo Di Marte are masterpieces and stand above the rest although i love all of these.
Going with the mellotron drenched Celeste album this time and i'm glad your back.

^ Thanks John--I was back in Utah taking my daughter to college and visiting family and friends (including Greg Walker...). Now it's back to the grind, but the nice spinoff is that there's more PA time!

By the way, your ZARPEK polls are mind boggling. So I do not apologize one bit for this. LOL

Don't kill me but I listened to Celeste and De De Lind no more than a couple of times and it was long ago so I can't remember them very well. Anyway fantastic list, for me the contest is between Cervello and Delirium. Very very close but I'm going with the insane one LOL

The same with me. Delirium lll was one of the first RPI albums I really fell for, and it still holds a very special place in my heart. I did however pick the insane one, even if it also sports beautiful serene psychedelic passages. Melos gets my vote! I do like that Campo di Marte too - especially the double whammy of two drummers makes it very seductive to these ears.

Oh and sorry for the late feedback here Todd, but I just can't keep up with the current pace of the polls recentlyLOL
