Well, i thought i'd go through my artists starting with "T" and find out what your favorites are from them.
My favorite prog band overall is in there, Triumvirat, and also some groups similar to them, like The Trip, Triade, and Trace.
Pat Travers and Triumph are from home turf (I'm Canadian) and of all listed, are the only artists i have seen in concert. (They both did great shows, Travers in December of '78, and Triumph in the winter of '81)
With Toto and Tangerine Dream, i only own their debut's, which i love immensely, but have heard other albums that are appealing.
                    What are your favorites here?

From the list, Triumvirate followed by Tangerine Dream, but off the list I like The Tangent, Tempest, and Transatlantic.

An easy vote for Triumvirat for me, I love several of thier albums, but the Italian Triade's sole album `1998 - La Storia...' is terrific too. I hope someone eventually votes for them!

Have been on a bit of a Tangerine Dream bender lately, but too soon to tell if I prefer them over Triumvirat.

That's neat, John. T2 are a fairly recent discovery of mine, from about half a year ago-great guitar!

Doug!
I very much like TD's `Phaedra' and `Force Majeure', but have really been giving the live `Encore' a stack of plays lately and it's deeply impressed me.

Guilty pleasure time - I'm really enjoying both the 80's `Logos' live album (very melodic and upbeat) and `Underwater Sunlight' albums, even if they have their plastic 80's moments!

Easily Triumvirat! Illusions on a Double Dimple is equal to Close To The Edge, or any other masterpiece albums in my book.

Tangerine is the obvious second, they just can't top the raw beauty of Triumvirat.

Sidenote: If you put on Todd Rundgren, I'd have to pick him (I'm sorry Triumvirat!!) even Something/Anything? is classic.

also worth mentioning some OSTs of the eighties : 'wavelength', 'legend' (with Jon Anderson on one song and Brain Ferry on another one), 'thief', 'flashpoint' and 'miracle mile'.

Lucas! Yep, `Wavelength' is pretty good! Have you heard T.Dream's `Firestarter' soundtrack?! I think it's absolutely superb! I enjoy that more than their studio albums `White Eagle' and `Hyperborea' from the same time.

I have a crusty LP rip I made off my poor condition vinyl of `Firestarter', but I would LOVE a nice remastered/reissued CD copy. There are a few older CD copies of it that show up on Ebay once in a while that end up going for quite a lot of money!

Yes, I heard some tracks off this album. They sounded quite good. Also I forgot another fine OST, albeit non official : 'The Park Is Mine', the whole soundtrack is available on youtube, it's really amazing I think.

80's Tangerine Dream has as many good musical moments to offer as 70's TD.

Lucas, I hope over the next few years we get some affordable reissues of those (and more) soundtrack albums you mentioned. I'm sure Tangerine Dream have enough of a large profile to warrant those obscure soundtrack albums getting reissued?

I haven't heard that `Park' one, so I'll head to Youtube and check it out!

I just had a look on Ebay, they had old CD copies of `Wavelength' starting at about $55 US!

yes, it's high time they reissue all those forgotten gems.
'miracle mile' and 'thief' on the other hand are available for a decent price.

Haven't heard `Miracle Mile', but I do have `Thief', which is a little inconsistent, some really good material with some average stuff too?

But their earlier soundtrack `Sorcerer' is really good! Impossibly dark and eerie, quite unnerving. Stands well alongside their classic albums from that 70's period!

I can see why T.Dream will win this poll, they have such a varied and plentiful catalogue of fascinating music!

If you like progressive hard rock with some fiery 70's guitars this will surely kick your ass and melt your brain!
Definitely worth checking out the reissue with some essential bonus tracks.

Interesting coincidence that one of the CDs I grabbed to take with me to work today was Triumph live on the King Biscuit Flower Hour series, a 1981 concert recording.  I got into Triumph in the early 80s when I was in high school, and they were a great complement to my Rush fanboy-ism.  I don't listen to them much anymore, but it's always a nice feeling when I do.  Not sure yet if I'm going to vote for them though.

I read that among others, John Lennon was backstage at some of their concerts, at one point.

One of the cool things that sets Triumph apart is that they were completely self-contained. Gil Moore handled the concer/booking/promotion, Rik Emmett was the musical director fleshing out the songs, and Mike Levine handled the production of the albums. A comradely bunch that did very well for themselves without being burdened by lots of contracts and commitments.
