25 progrelated tunes on my Itunes lasting from 14:30 to 15:30 mins. I only allowed one track for each artist. I think I ended up with an excellent list and I guess the only point of this is that I hope some of you'll check out the titles you don't already know. I'll add some vids.

Weird that you don't have Awaken here, as that would get my vote. Havn't heard anything here so no vote.

^As you don't know anything on the list, is it really that weird Awaken's mssing? Relayer is the final Yes-album I truly care about.

Hmm...tough call.
Lots to love here (U Totem, UZ, Can, etc) but I', going to give my vote to National Health. One of the best they did.

I was wondering at first whether it was going to be Nat Health or Can, until I got to Magma at the bottom and it was a no-brainer at that point. Kohntarkosz is my favorite thing of any kind, ever.

Very conflicted here! I voted without hesitation for `Present - Le Poison Qui Rend Fou Part 1' - One of my favourite pieces off one of my all-time favourite albums. That album is one of the most addictive, sinister and chilliest albums I've ever encountered, and it's one of the albums I'm most proud of in my collection. However...

Vangelis `The Dragon' is ALSO very near the top of my favourite LP's too. My good friend and I have been obsessed in this album in years, love the dramatic title track and the ethnic elements throughout the whole album. Like nothing else he ever recorded - with a KILLER cover sleeve too!

Great list, a lot of which I am unfortunately unfamiliar with; soon to change though. Kayo Dot's The Antique is a brilliant piece of music from a brilliant album - my vote goes there. The Mother Sky is a psychedelic goodie, probably my second choice.

Vangelis recorded some interesting stuff in that 1970-1973 period. Hypothesis (free-form jazz?) , Earth (world music??) , Apocalypse Des Animaux ( New Age / Ambient) plus one of my favourite albums '666' with Aphrodites Child. This period of Vangelis unfortunately tends to be a bit overlooked with the much more commercially successfull albums that followed later (although I like those as well)

Oh, as much as I love `The Dragon' (I still listen to it all the time), I thought `Hyphothesis' was awful lol! I remember there was a `two on one' CD release of that and the Dragon, and the sheer concept of those two albums side by side was unthinkable to me!
But `Apocalypse Des Animaux' is a stunner. So low-key and sad in places, haunting! One of his best. For some strange reason, parts of that reminded me a lot of that French `Air' band, although I'm sure it's purely coincidental. I have no idea if they ever heard that Vangelis album.

Hypothesis and The Dragon I believe were both recorded at the same recording sessions so tend to get grouped together. Conceptually they are massively different for sure but Vangelis seemingly was happy to experiment with different ideas at that time. I agree with you on Apocalypse Des Animaux about how good it is. Never heard the French band you refer to but might have to check them out!

^Amazingly creative period for Vangelis. There was seemingly no limit to what he could do and he did it all so convincingly. Add the stunning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ6KRI43K5o" rel="nofollow - Sex Power OST (check out the clip) from 1969, and it gets even more impressive.

Glad to see Supersister on this list, but another Dutch Gem (The Mountain Queen - Alquin 14:46) is overlooked here. Never mind, you can't have them all...

Oh, that's too bad. To my ears this might as well have been a Rypdal-track with Garbarek in the lineup as the other way around. Mood&soundwise Sart's titletrack would fit perfectly on Rypdals self-titled 71-album.

But `Apocalypse Des Animaux' is a stunner.
This parallels my view a great deal. That Vangelis recorded two so disparate albums in the same session says a great deal for his flexibility and musicianship. I have the two separately on vinyl, and the idea of them both together on one CD is simply bizarre. Apocalypse Des Animaux is in my top ten of his albums.

I went with Deuter, but as always you have an excellent taste in music, where I could have gone for almost any of the other possibilities really. I love so much from this selection, but seeing as I just listened to that Deuter track last night while walking around the lonely darkened streets of my little town - with goosebumps ablazing through all of that maniacal Indian raga power, acoustic Krautrock trippings and those uplifting swampy synthesisers, I just had to vote for it. Great track from a great album!

I've been listening to him quite a bit recently. I also think Aum is far better than its reputation for being an early new age release. Maybe it is, I'm not even sure what new age means, but I happen to like the album.
One thing about this poll - there are still a couple of incredible tracks without votes: Heldon and Supersister. Alright, maybe I understand why people don't 'get' Heldon, but Supersister? Truly boggles the mind...
