He's an absolute motherf***** of a jazz piano player, but he is also a wonderful composer, mixing jazz with Armenian folk music with prog rock. I think he'd fit right in the Jazz/Fusion section here. His latest album is astonishingly good:
And so is his album Red Hail:
I'd say it's a no brainer! I personally really love his solo album A Fable too, worth checking out.

Could you please add a little more info on him as well as some more music (maybe a link or two)?
This is not nearly enough to base an evaluation on.

This dude is already here...at least partly he is!
The 'Red Hail' album was recorded as 'Arrata Rebirth', which is how Tigran represents himself on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aratta.rebirth" rel="nofollow - https://www.facebook.com/aratta.rebirth , and lo and behold - http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6275" rel="nofollow - Arrata Rebirth is already here, with a full biography of Tigran's past exploits too, but only the ' http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=35858" rel="nofollow - Red Hail ' album included on Aratta Rebirth's page on PA, which seems fair enough. On http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/tigran_hamasyan" rel="nofollow - RYM Red Hail is listed together with Tigran's solo stuff though, with no mention of Arrata Rebirth anywhere on the site. Confused? - Me too!!!
I think we just need to throw this straight over to the JR/F team and let them sort it out!
Anyhow - for more samples there is https://myspace.com/tigranhamasyan/music/albums" rel="nofollow - https://myspace.com/tigranhamasyan/music/albums (Tigran's latest album from 2013 - 'Shadow Theater' is there, plus some earlier stuff).
To listen to music from the Red Hail album go to https://myspace.com/arattar/music/songs" rel="nofollow - https://myspace.com/arattar/music/songs .
More info here: http://www.tigranhamasyan.com/" rel="nofollow - http://www.tigranhamasyan.com/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tigran-Hamasyan-official-page/106915296001772" rel="nofollow - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tigran-Hamasyan-official-page/106915296001772 .
Some live tubes:
And there's loads more...
He also played on Tunisian jazz vocalist and oud player http://www.dhaferyoussef.com/" rel="nofollow - Dhafer Youssef 's highly acclaimed 2010 jazz fusion album ' http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/dhafer_youssef/abu_nawas_rhapsody/" rel="nofollow - Abu Nawas Rhapsody '.
Edit: You'll find a boatload of his stuff on soundcloud too - just do a general search: https://soundcloud.com/#search?q=Tigran%20Hamasyan" rel="nofollow - https://soundcloud.com/#search?q=Tigran%20Hamasyan , and start wading through it!!
And there's about half an hour's worth (three tracks) of the 'Abu Nawas Rhapsody' album played live below (from around 12:54 to 41:16 in the video), with Tigran tinkling the ivories:

Cheers for the help my fellow Midlandser! I think you've pretty much covered it... The hour and a half video is probably the best one to check out. Here's a personal favourite of mine from that, and it's half of a two parter so that must be prog right?
Nate Wood is such an incredible drummer too... Fun fact, he also played with the pop band The Calling.

I've listened to Red Hail. Probably one of the best contemporary jazz albums I've heard in the past few years. Really good stuff and incorporates its rock and folk influences a lot more effectively than most. Aratta Rebirth is classified under JR/F in JMA, so I don't see why not here.
