2 stars PIKE 121 - SHADED RAY is the 20th album released by BUCKETHEAD in 2015. Another instrumental album clocking in near the half hour mark at 29:59 with BUCKETHEAD playing all the instruments. This album has three tracks with the title track hogging 2/3 of the album.

The title track leads things off and begins a long instrumental journey down a 19:31 timed path. It is a mid-tempo rocker that has a guitar riff, medium paced soloing, bass, guitar and drums. It goes on and on and on in repetition. Boring.

Track two is "4 Lands" and starts off with a more interesting energetic guitar riff with a nice guitar effect and melodic development. Sounds kinda like a rockin' anthem of some kind. This one lasts 7:01 and is a little too boring for my tastes. Too repetitive and not enough interesting anything going on. Snoozeroni.

Track three "Junkyard Ridge" clocks in at 3:27 and is another hard rocker that borders on metal. It has alternating riffs. It has bass. It has drums. Not much more. This album is boring but well played.
