2 stars 'Amused to Death', or the proof that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Roger Waters' third solo album turns out to be a 70+ minute piece of overindulging and repetitive music topped with the man himself bragging about the state of the world? once again. While the concept might be amusing, there is almost nothing going on here musically, it is a record that sounds stale and uninspiring. It is unnecessarily long and I think that it could have easily been reduced in half which could have resulted in a far more convincing piece of music. Allowing myself to compare it to the Pink Floyd album that was released just two years after this one, 'Amused to Death' is bleak but tedious.
